MULUNGUSHI UNIVERSITY SOMHS STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN GLOBAL FUND PROVINCIAL DIALOGUE ON HIV, TB AND MALARIA

The Mulungushi University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SOMHS) today proudly participated in the Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanism (GF-CCM) Zambia and National AIDS Council (NAC) Provincial Dialogue and Consensus-Building Meeting, held to engage stakeholders in shaping Zambia’s response to HIV, Tuberculosis (TB), and Malaria.

Representing the voice of future healthcare professionals, SOMHS students actively contributed to discussions focusing on the successes achieved through Global Fund-supported programmes, the challenges communities continue to face, and practical solutions aimed at strengthening disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and healthcare service delivery across the country.

During the dialogue, SOMHS joined fellow student representatives from Livingstone College of Nursing and Midwifery, Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies (LIBES), and David Livingstone College of Education (DALICE), demonstrating the power of youth collaboration in influencing national health priorities and policy discussions.

The students applauded the GF-CCM Zambia and the National AIDS Council (NAC) for their commitment to promoting meaningful youth participation in decision-making, recognizing that the involvement of young people is essential in developing sustainable and community-driven solutions to Zambia’s public health challenges.

As future health professionals, the Mulungushi University SOMHS delegation reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to evidence-based health advocacy, community engagement, and collaborative efforts aimed at building a healthier Zambia.
