EDEN UNIVERSITY LAUNCHES A NEW COMPUTER TRAINING CENTER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH INDIAN INSTITUTE OF HARDWARE & TECHNOLOGY.

Thursday, March 23Rd 2022. Lusaka Eden University Great East Campus.

EDEN UNIVERSITY today held a ceremonous event which was the signing ceremony and launch of a New Advanced ICT training center in partnership with the Indian Computer and Technology Institute.

The event was graced by Eden University board Chairperson Mr. Maga Dr, Chief Executive Officer and Director Mr. Kelvin Kaunda, Vice chancellor Prof. Mutuku Mutinga, Act Deputy Vice chancellor Mrs. Barbara Hachamba amongst other senior management staff.

While education remains key to foster sustainable development in Africa, we can not neglect the role Information, computer and technology plays in advancing provision for quality education.

"The future is ICT, Eden University can ill afford to leave out technology in advancing the agenda for provision of education." he said.

"Eden University is committed on the inclusion of ICT to lead the driving agenda for provision of quality education across the country and the continent at large." Mr kaunda said.

He thanked the cooperating partners from Indian Institute of Technology for the commitment towards the realization and finalizing the Memorandum of understanding.

He assured partners from the Technology institute in India of facilitating for the realization and Implementation of the contents in the MOU which seeks to provide education in ICT for the growth of Zambias industries in the filed of technology and personal development for many young people both in urban and rural areas.

Speaking during the ceremony Eden University Council Chairperson Mr. Magande began by sharing his rich experience in Technology and science, he expressed profound happiness on the agenda been undertaken by Eden University in regards to introduction of this facility and provision on top of sound education.

Mr Magande shared his ICT experience during he's education times owing to the advancement and new discoveries in this new generation. Record keeping and safe storing of data has one of the key changes over the time.

He alluded to the need for Computer studies advancement amongst young people.

He thanked Mr Mohan the chairperson for the Indian institute of technology and hardware for the continued efforts towards the realization of this Memorandum of understanding.

Mr Magande. P. Ng'andu spoke to the steady growth of Eden University and need for the promotion of the ICT department to top up on the quality of education been offered at the institution. " We can not speak about the provision of education without technology included in it, we must invest further in science and technology to realize the full provision of quality education and access to education for everyone; he said.

Mr. P. Magande who is also the board Chairperson for Eden University recognized the need to take technology in rural parts of the country for inclusion and advancing sustainable development goals and other industries such as agriculture, Bussiness etc.

"Eden University will continue to be amongst the best higher education providing institutions in the country, Mr. Magande.

The inclusion of computer and technology advanced studies will also contribute greatly towards our economy and sustainability and promote many other industries." he said.

Information and computer technology will Advance agriculture upscaling and other industries. This will also help the government in Zambia to foster Various services to most parts of the country through technology. Technology will also give us assurance for a better future to come. Through Eden University many young people in Zambia and neighboring counties will get equipped with the necessary skill and tools to contribute to the growth of the economy.

We will champion the agenda of a country that will invest in science and technology.

This partnership will see Eden University, Indian Institute of hardware and technology and Maga technologies Come together to train many young people.
