Eden University Launches CDF-Funded Skills Development Programs

On 31st January 2025, Eden University made history as the first private university to launch skills development programs funded by the Constituency Development Fund
(CDF). 596 students have already been onboarded from 16 Districts across the country.
The ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Honourable Gary Nkombo MP, who applauded the university for pioneering the government’s initiative to enhance skills training.

Hon. Nkombo commended Eden University for its commitment to national development, highlighting the program’s potential to address unemployment and equip graduates with practical skills.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Alvert N. Ng’andu, speaking on behalf of the university, expressed gratitude to the government for the CDF skills training policy. He assured stakeholders of the institution’s readiness to deliver quality training and urged beneficiaries to take their studies seriously to fully benefit from the initiative.

The launch marks a significant step in aligning private education with national development goals, setting a benchmark for other institutions to follow.

The intensive and extensive approach of the Eden University Social Work programs impresses The "Social Workers Association of Zambia" (SWAZ)Chief Executive Officer/General Secretary Mr. Joachim Cuthbert Mumba who is also Global President of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW).

On 27th January 2025 Mr. Mumba was guest of honor at the orientation of the University's 2025 January intake Social Work students at the main campus.
