On this day, the EIZ Student Chapter at Evelyn Hone College honors Zambia’s first President – a visionary who believed engineering was key to our nation’s freedom and prosperity.
Dr. Kaunda once said:
“We cannot afford to be a nation of spectators. We must become a nation of builders, inventors, and problem‑solvers.”
He saw engineers as servants of the people – called to design roads, hospitals, schools, and industries that would lift Zambia from consumption to production. 🛤️🏗️
His words continue to fuel our mission as engineering students. We are inspired to:

✅ Turn his dream of a self‑reliant Zambia into reality
Today, we salute Shaba Shaba – the founding father who taught us that engineering is not just a career, but a patriotic calling.
