UFEZ URGE EMPLOYERS TO COMPLY WITH NAPSA REGULATIONS
The United Front for Economic Zambia (UFEZ) has acknowledged the efforts of the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) in promoting social security coverage for Zambian workers.

"We commend NAPSA for its tireless efforts to expand pension coverage across the country," said a UFEZ spokesperson. "However, we urge all employers to take responsibility and comply with NAPSA regulations."

UFEZ is calling on employers to prioritize registering their employees with NAPSA and making timely contributions to ensure they receive their rightful benefits.

"Compliance is key to securing the future of Zambian workers," the spokesperson emphasized. "We encourage all employers to work with NAPSA to achieve this goal."

The call comes as NAPSA continues to drive initiatives aimed at increasing pension scheme participation and improving benefits for members. UFEZ's statement underscores the importance of collective action in promoting social security and economic stability in Zambia.

Compliance is not optional. It is the foundation of dignity for workers and stability for businesses. The Federation of Employers in Zambia continues to push for full compliance with statutory obligations — especially NAPSA contributions and all other lawful employee benefits.
Why this matters: For Employees: NAPSA is not a deduction, it is a protection. It secures pensions, invalidity benefits, and survivors’ benefits for Zambian families. When employers comply, we protect the future of the men and women who build this economy daily.
For Employers: Compliance creates a level playing field. Businesses that remit correctly should not be undercut by those that avoid their obligations. Fair competition demands that we all play by the same rules.
For Zambia: A strong social security system reduces dependency, strengthens household resilience, and supports national development. This is how we build an economy that works for everyone.
Our Call to Action:
We urge every employer, large and small, public and private, to:
✅ Register all eligible employees with NAPSA
✅ Remit contributions fully and on time, every month
✅ Keep accurate records and ensure employees receive their statements
✅ Engage with NAPSA and the Federation for guidance where challenges exist
The Federation remains committed to dialogue, education, and advocacy. We will work with government, NAPSA, trade unions, and our members to ensure compliance is achievable and enforced fairly.

UFEZ JOINS THE REST OF THE WORLD COMMEMORATING 2026 LABOR DAY CELEBRATION

Lusaka, Zambia - The United Federation of Employers in Zambia (UFEZ) joins the nation in commemorating Labour Day, with a renewed pledge to promote decent work and sustainable employment.

The theme for this year's celebration, "Securing Zambia's Future of Work: Protecting Jobs, Skills and Pensions for Decent Work for All," resonates deeply with UFEZ's mission to foster a conducive business environment that supports both enterprise growth and worker welfare.

In a statement, UFEZ executive president Dr Humphrey Monde emphasized the importance of protecting jobs, investing in skills development, and ensuring pension protection and social security for workers. "As employers, we recognize that securing the future of work requires deliberate and collaborative action. We will continue to strive to sustain businesses, even in challenging economic environments, because job creation and retention are not only economic goals, but also social imperatives," said the representative.

UFEZ is committed to playing a pivotal role in promoting decent work and economic growth through policy advocacy, social dialogue, and capacity-building initiatives.

The Federation supports its members in adopting fair labour practices, complying with labour laws, and improving workplace standards. "We remain committed to constructive engagement, evidence-based policy advocacy, and promoting a balanced labour environment that supports both enterprise growth and worker protection," said the representative.

The Federation commends workers across the country for their dedication and resilience, and employers for their continued efforts in sustaining enterprises and supporting the economy.
