Eden University Aligns 2026–2030 Strategic Plan with National and Global Priorities
Eden University has aligned its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan with key national and global development frameworks to enhance relevance, impact, and sustainability in higher education delivery.
The plan is anchored on Zambia’s Vision 2030, with a strong focus on workforce development through targeted academic programmes aimed at producing highly skilled, job-ready graduates to support the country’s knowledge economy.
In line with the 8th National Development Plan (8NDP), the University is strengthening its emphasis on STEM education to respond to emerging labour market demands through industry-aligned training and partnerships.
The strategy also recognises the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. Eden University is leveraging AI to advance personalised learning, curriculum innovation, and administrative efficiency, while integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote inclusive, accessible, and quality education that reduces inequalities and supports sustainable growth.
Speaking during a colourful launch ceremony on Thursday, University Chancellor Ms. Chileshe Kapwepwe commended the University Council, management, faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders for their collective effort in developing the plan.
She said the document reflects deep consultation and a shared commitment to the University’s future amid rapid technological change, increased competition, and evolving societal needs.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Alvert Ngandu said the strategy builds on the successful implementation of the 2020–2024 Strategic Plan, which guided the University through growth, consolidation, and resilience.
Meanwhile, Holding Company Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kelvin Kaunda noted that the plan will transform University operations by enhancing efficiency, governance, and institutional impact.
Presenting the strategic framework, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Flavien N. Bumbangi said the 2026–2030 plan is deliberately aligned with national aspirations and global trends to ensure Eden University remains responsive, innovative, and impactful in human capital development, among others.
In his vote of thanks, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Zhunga Simbwalanga emphasised that the launch marks the beginning of a shared journey, calling on all stakeholders to collectively own and work together to translate the Strategic Plan’s aspirations into measurable impact.
