Charles Lwanga College of Education Guided by Jesuit ideals the college seek to form men & women with a sense of justice. The college is a Christian college of catholic faith.

Established in 1959, envisions to be a centre of innovative excellence in teacher education by training competent, conscientious, committed & effective teachers. Charles Lwanga College of Education is a grant-aided institution is governed by the statutory instrument Number 43 of 1993. The proprietor of the college is the Provincial Superior of the Zambia-Malawi Province of the Society of Jesus (Je

suits). The proprietor has delegated the managing of the college to the Management Board of Charles Lwanga College of Education. It is, however, inter-denominational in the secondment of academic staff, non-academic staff and in the enrolment of students. The proprietors value working in collaboration with the lay staff. It is for this reason that they continually share their vision of the institution with lay collaborators. The vision is inspired by the principles of their founder, St, Ignatius of Loyola and the gospel value of our Lord Jesus Christ.
