Adamjee Cantonment College is an educational institution with a mission to expand education in the country and build future leaders .

The college was established in 1960 with the patronization of Gul Mohammad Adamjee--- a renowned industrialist of the then Pakistan. Established in the spectacular beauty of Kurmitola, this traditional institution was founded following the ideology and curricular of original public school of England---- Eton and Harrow. The college has a flag with a monogram on blue canvas symbolising education, discipline, morality and knowledge. Before the liberation, the college earned the prestige of being a reputed English medium institution. After liberation, the medium of education became Bangla. The students of this college for the first time appeared at Matriculation and Intermediate examinations respectively in 1962 and 1964. The college introduced graduation course (pass) in the session 1972-73. Afterwards, Masters course was introduced in the session 1996-97 and Honours course was introduced in the session 1998-99. Following this, BBA program was introduced in 2004-05. At present Higher Secondary( both Bangla and English Version), Graduation (pass), Honours Courses in English, Economics, Accounting, Political Science and Management along with Masters and BBA program are running in the college. Adamjee Cantonment College is a renowned and well established educational institution of the country. It is crowned with the glory of passing over a half century in the field of education arena of Bangladesh. The institution has earned the rare prestige of being one of the top ranking colleges of Dhaka Education Board for its outstanding academic achievements in HSC exam in the recent academic years. It was adjudged the best educational institution of the country for the academic year 2000. In 2018, it has been declared the best college of Dhaka City by Education Ministry in National Education Week. In terms of HSC result the college has been placed among top ranking 5 colleges of Dhaka Board for last three years. In 2015 it secured 1st position in Dhaka Board. The result of Hons, Masters and Professional BBA Programme of this college is one of the best ones in the exams under the National University. In 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2018 consecutively the college was recognized as the best college among 33 colleges run by Bangladesh Army and won the prestigious Army Chief Trophy for academic excellence. The mission of this institution is to create worthy citizens for the nation, inculcating the spirit of education, discipline and morality in the young learners and ensure a congenial environment for the students to develop themselves in the best possible way both in curricular and extracurricular realms. Since its inception, the college has made significant contribution in the field of education. Besides striving for academic excellence, we lay great emphasis on all-round development of the students, specially in terms of their mental , physical moral and technological upliftment. The quality education through discipline and morality coupled with knowledge of technology, inextricable from the life of 21st century ,gives our students insight to go ahead in life which will eventually lead them to their desired destination. A large number of ex-students of this institution are now highly placed in the civil and military administrations ranging from NASA Scientist to the Chief of Armed Forces. We are totally committed to make every endeavour to improve the quality of education we impart and make this place into a center of excellence.

Inter-House Handball Competition-2026 Concludes at ACC

The Inter-House Handball Competition (Boys and Girls)-2026 concluded on 14 October 2026 at the college ground of Adamjee Cantonment College (ACC), amid great enthusiasm and much excitement. Students from all four houses including Birshreshtha Mostafa Kamal House, Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman House, Birshreshtha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir House, and Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf House participated in the competition with remarkable sportsmanship and competitive spirit.

In the boys’ final, Birshreshtha Mostafa Kamal House emerged as the champion, defeating Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf House, which secured the runner-up position. In the girls’ final, Birshreshtha Mostafa Kamal House also claimed the championship title by defeating Birshreshtha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir House, the runner-up.

The final matches were graced by the presence of the College Principal, Brig Gen Md Shahan Sadi, ndc, psc, MPhil, who distributed trophies among the champion and runner-up teams. He congratulated the winning teams on their outstanding performances and appreciated the participants for their dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

In his address, the Principal encouraged the students to maintain physical fitness, practice regularly, and continue striving for excellence in sports. He also expressed his hope that the students would build on their achievements and bring further recognition to the college by excelling in national-level competitions.

The competition reflected ACC’s continued commitment to promoting sports, discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition among its students.

A Grand Freshers’ Reception for Honours, Masters and BBA Program-2026 Held at ACC

Adamjee Cantonment College hosted a Grand Freshers’ Reception-2026 in its auditorium to warmly welcome the newly admitted students of the Honours, Masters and BBA programme.

The Principal, Vice Principal, Coordinator, and faculty members extended a heartfelt welcome to the freshers, inspiring them to embark on their higher education journey with confidence, enthusiasm, and renewed aspirations.

The event featured captivating cultural performances by senior students, filling the auditorium with joy, melody, and vibrant energy.

The Principal, Brig Gen Md Shahan Sadi, ndc, psc, MPhil, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he congratulated the freshers on choosing Adamjee Cantonment College for their higher education and expressed sincere appreciation to the performers and organisers for making the event a success. He also highlighted the three pillars of discipline—respecting rules, valuing time, and maintaining order as essential foundations for academic excellence and personal growth.

Grand Assembly

Adamjee Cantonment College (ACC) held its Grand Assembly on the college premises, featuring the formal badge and armband adornment ceremony for the panelist members of the four platoons of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC). The ceremony marked an important milestone in their leadership journey and recognised their commitment to discipline, responsibility, and service.

The assembly was attended by freshers, HSC second-year students, and students from the Honours, Master’s, and BBA programmes. The event reflected the college’s commitment to fostering leadership, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility among its students, particularly the BNCC cadets.

During the programme, outstanding performers from the Kothashilpa Clubs were awarded crests and certificates in recognition of their remarkable achievements in the national competition. The awards honoured their performances in storytelling, self-written poetry and recitation, and presentation.

The ceremony was graced by the College Principal, Brig Gen Md Shahan Sadi, ndc, psc, MPhil, who formally adorned the BNCC panelists with their armbands and badges and exchanged greetings with them. He also presented crests and certificates to the Kothashilpa Club achievers, congratulating them on their accomplishments.

Parents’ Meeting with HSC Second-Year Guardians Held at ACC

Adamjee Cantonment College (ACC) organised a parents meeting with the guardians of the HSC second-year students on the college premises to discuss students’ academic progress and preparation for the upcoming Pre-Test Examination.

Parents and guardians from all academic groups, including Science (Bangla and English Versions), Business Studies (Bangla and English Versions), and Humanities, attended the meeting. The discussion focused on ensuring proper preparation for the Pre-Test Examination, making effective use of the vacation for study and revision, maintaining regular attendance, and strengthening parents’ involvement in the students’ academic activities and college affairs. The meeting also highlighted the importance of close cooperation between parents and the college in supporting students’ academic proficiency and ensuring their proper preparation for the upcoming Pre-Test Examination.

The meeting was presided over by the College Principal, Brigadier General Md Shahan Sadi, ndc, psc, MPhil. In his speech, he requested the parents to extend their cooperation to the college in ensuring a good preparation for the upcoming test during the vacation. He also urged the parents to ensure their regular attendance in class in the following days and remain informed about college activities and academic matters.

Club Orientation-2026 Held at Adamjee Cantonment College

Adamjee Cantonment College hosted Club Orientation-2026, a day-long programme featuring its 33 vibrant clubs, with the aim of introducing the newly admitted grade XI students to the history, legacy, objectives, activities, and achievements of the respective clubs. The programme provided an excellent opportunity for the freshers to explore their interests, discover their potential, and learn about the diverse extracurricular activities offered by the college.

As part of the orientation, each club presented an informative and engaging promotional video highlighting its activities, major events, and notable achievements. These presentations offered the newcomers valuable insights into the clubs' contributions to fostering creativity, leadership, teamwork, innovation, and personal development.

The most mesmerizing segment of the programme was the vibrant display of cultural performances by representatives of the participating clubs. Their captivating presentations added colour, enthusiasm, and a festive atmosphere to the occasion, making the event both entertaining and memorable.

Adamjee Cantonment College observed World Teachers’ Day-2026 in a befitting manner, paying tribute to the invaluable contribution of teachers to education, character building, and nation-building.

To commemorate the day and highlight the pivotal role of teachers in shaping the future generation, the College Principal, Brig Gen Md Shahan Sadi, ndc, psc, MPhil, along with all faculty members, participated in a colourful and meaningful rally on the college premises. The rally reflected the college community’s deep respect and appreciation for the dedication, commitment, and selfless service of teachers.

Inauguration of a Smart Classroom and the Vertical Extension of BBA Building at ACC

Adamjee Cantonment College inaugurated a newly renovated Smart Classroom and the vertical extension of the BBA Building on 27 September, 2026 with the aim of enriching the learning environment and providing students with greater access to modern educational facilities.

Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, SGP, SUP, ndc, hdmc, psc, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Area Commander, Logistics Area, and Chief Patron of Adamjee Cantonment College, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the facilities.

The newly introduced Smart Classroom is designed to enhance the learning experience through the effective integration of advanced technology, interactive teaching methodologies, and digital learning resources, thereby creating a more engaging and student-centred academic environment.

The respected Chief Guest interacted with the students, encouraging them to share their learning experiences and views regarding the newly introduced facilities. His inspiring interaction with the students reflected his commitment to promoting quality education and fostering a modern, technology-driven learning environment at the college.

Grand Assembly and Prefect Adornment Ceremony Held at ACC

Grand Assembly of Adamjee Cantonment College (ACC) was held on the college premises to warmly welcome the Freshers of the session 2026–27 as they embarked on their academic and co-curricular journey at the institution. Held on the very first day of their college life, the programme was attended by the students of the session 2025–26 (sophomore), creating a vibrant, cordial and inspiring atmosphere for the newcomers.

A key highlight of the assembly was the announcement and adornment of the newly selected Class Prefects. The prefects were selected on the basis of their performance in the Welcome Assessment conducted for the freshers. The respective Class Teachers formally adorned the newly appointed prefects with their prefect badges, marking the beginning of their responsibilities as student leaders and representatives of their respective classes.

The event also featured the conferment of the Best Discipline Awards, honouring students who demonstrated exemplary conduct and a strong commitment to maintaining the discipline and standards of the college. Out of 92 nominated students from 23 sections, K. M. Boni of XII-S6 and Mst. Sonali Afrin of XII-S6 were recognised for their commendable discipline and exemplary conduct.

The College Principal, Brig Gen Md Shahan Sadi, ndc, psc, MPhil, congratulated the recipients and presented them with tokens of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding commitment to upholding the standards of discipline at the college.

The Principal subsequently administered the Prefect’s Oath to the new prefects. In his address, he urged them to discharge their entrusted responsibilities with sincerity, integrity and dedication, while upholding the dignity, discipline, values and traditions of the College. He also exchanged greetings with them and conveyed his best wishes for successful prefectship.

In his speech, the Principal advised the freshers to make the most of their first year of college life by maintaining regular study habits while actively participating in the academic and co-curricular opportunities offered by the college. He encouraged them to explore and develop their talents, abilities and potential through active engagement in various club activities.

Addressing the second-year students, he also urged them to prepare thoroughly for the forthcoming Pre-Test Examination and to demonstrate their best performance through sincere and consistent efforts. He also encouraged the senior students to take on the responsibility of guiding and supporting their junior peers and to lead them towards the right path by setting positive examples through their conduct and commitment.

The entire college premises became alive with vibrant colours, festivity, and youthful enthusiasm as the freshers joined the college community with excitement and anticipation.

At the outset of the programme, the College Principal, faculty members, and staff welcomed the newcomers with flowers, creating a warm and cordial atmosphere.

Central college Prefect Khalid Bin Walid delivered a heartfelt welcome address, introducing the freshers to the rich legacy, traditions, achievements, and continuous success of the college, while a representative of the freshers shared his dreams, aspirations, passions, and feelings about becoming a part of this prestigious institution.
