EUI is established by MCIT to be the "Gateway to the Science of the Future"

EUI is established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to become a leading academic institution offering specialised educational programs to meet the needs of the labour market with state-of-the-art ICT specialists through its campus based in the Knowledge City at the New Administrative Capital. EUI equips students with the sciences needed for the future through four faculties (Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Business Informatics, and Digital Arts, and Design), offering 16 specialised educational programs to meet the labour market needs from specialists in the latest fields of ICT. Such fields include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Engineering, Electronics Industry and Communications Science, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Animation Arts, User experience, and Electronic Game Design.

Five years ago, Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) was founded with a clear mission: to be a leading national non-profit specialized university in the fields of communication and information technology.

It was built on a long-term vision by the legendary Prof. Reem Bahgat, EUI’s Founding President. Today, her legacy lives among us on campus, in our classrooms, our labs, and every decision we make as we continue down the path she paved.

We are proud to celebrate this milestone and to have graduated two cohorts of young talents, ready to become the future leaders of Egypt’s digital era.

Ms. Julian Rweju, Director of E-Government Services at the National Information Technology Authority - Uganda, shares her impressions of the Ugandan delegation’s visit to EUI. The delegation came to learn more about EUI’s journey as a role model in preparing students for the sciences of the future in the Digital Transformation age. As Uganda looks to apply AI and digital transformation in the near future, this exchange of experience marks an important step toward building the skills and partnerships to get there.

Having graduated with the Class of 2026, Mahmoud Elsheikha, a Cybersecurity graduate from the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, looks back on his EUI experience. From the first lecture to the graduation project, each challenge sharpened his mindset, and now, as a Teaching Assistant, he is passing that mindset on to younger EUIans.

We were honored to welcome a high-level Ugandan delegation to EUI for a benchmarking visit on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation.

The delegation was led by H.E. Ms. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, Minister of State for Information, Communications & Technology. It included senior representatives from the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance, the National Information Technology Authority (NITA-U), the National Planning Authority, and the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

The visit was an opportunity to learn more about EUI’s journey as a role model in preparing students for the sciences of the future in the digital transformation age, exchange experiences, share best practices, and explore ways to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Uganda in AI and digital transformation.

EUI is proud to join CYSEC Egypt Summit 2026 as a Knowledge Partner, bringing our academic expertise to the conversation on securing Egypt's digital transformation. The summit takes place on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at The St. Regis New Capital, Cairo, Egypt.

Our very own Prof. Fatty Mostafa Ahmed, Professor of Information and Network Security at the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, has been named a SheLeads Honoree this year, with special recognition on the summit's agenda. Her leadership, research, and mentorship are shaping the next generation of cyber talent in Egypt, and we couldn't be prouder.

Staff members and students from the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design took part in the seminar "From the Roots of Heritage to the Horizons of Digital Creativity," held as part of the Echoes of Civilizations exhibition at Prince Taz Palace.

The participation took the form of an artistic dialogue that brought academic expertise together with the fresh creative vision of young artists. It included a showcase of student work in digital arts and an exploration of where heritage, Egyptian identity and modern technology meet.

A dialogue between generations, where heritage meets the future and creativity remains the shared language.
