Keele is a proud partner and host of the award-winning Higher Horizons network, which works to provide access for students from backgrounds that are traditionally under-represented in higher education.
The programme delivers collaborative activity to support students, and recent data shows that around 47% of learners who worked with Higher Horizons applied to university, being twice as likely to apply to a university than their demographic peers.
Since 2017, the network has worked with over 65,000 young people across Staffordshire, Cheshire & Shropshire, 74% of whom were from the most deprived areas.
Outreach sessions include Year 12 Medicine and Veterinary Science programmes, and skills and myth busting in-school sessions.
