"Far too many people with a learning disability are still dying too young. WHY IS THIS NOT HEADLINE NEWS?"

Powerful words from the people with learning disabilities who worked with us on LeDeR for the past 5 years. They said in their foreword to the 2024 report, published today:

"We are still shocked that we haven’t moved on that much. Every year, working on the report is difficult. It makes us think about our own lives and about our friends. It’s scary to think what might happen to us... Our lives matter. Please DO something!"

Our last Assisted Dying focus group today. We have now spoken with 21 people with learning disabilities (2 focus groups & 13 interviews).

They have given us much food for thought. We’ll be making sense of it all over the next few months.
