Recognised for supporting the next generation of design talent, NEWGEN continues to champion emerging creatives shaping the future of fashion.

Fashion, football and honest conversation come together in Home Turf, a new exhibition at London College of Fashion, UAL.

Opening at LCF’s East Bank campus, the exhibition explores identity, masculinity and self-expression through the lived experiences of young working-class men in East London. Created collaboratively with participants and students, Home Turf challenges narrow media portrayals and creates space for more personal and nuanced stories to be told.

London College of Fashion, UAL’s East Bank campus has opened a new exhibition space 'Home Turf'.

Co-created with young men from East London and LCF students, the exhibition uses football and fashion as entry points for deeper conversations around identity, masculinity and self-expression.

Many young men, particularly those from working-class and Black communities, continue to be underrepresented or misrepresented, with limited opportunities to share their perspectives in their own words.

Delivered by LCF’s Portal Centre for Social Impact in partnership with Ashton Jones-Frame, Home Turf offers a platform for these voices. It challenges narrow perceptions of masculinity and presents more nuanced, personal narratives shaped by lived experience.

Home Turf is programmed as part of The Music is Black Festival, an East Bank-wide programme of events, performances, dance and screenings taking place across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from April to November 2026, celebrating the V&A East Museum’s inaugural exhibition, The Music is Black: A British Story.

Visitors can also explore Resonant Matter, running alongside Home Turf, which examines the spaces and scenes where music, fashion and community come together.

The design brought together performance, identity and bold self-expression on one of fashion’s most visible global stages.

Known for his high-impact, expressive aesthetic, Christian Cowan continues to shape contemporary fashion across music, performance and culture.

Sculpture met the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala.

Kim Kardashian appeared in a striking, sculptural look brought to life with creative direction by LCF alumna Nadia Lee Cohen. Working alongside Allen Jones and Whitaker Malem, the piece reimagined a 1960s cast into a bold breastplate, finished in an auto body shop.

The result blurred the boundaries between fashion, art and object, translating concept into a powerful visual statement on a global stage.

We’re proud to see LCF alumnus Robert Wun continuing to shape the global fashion landscape.

Most recently, his designs were worn by Lisa from BLACKPINK at the Met Gala, featured in Vogue. His work has also been seen on figures including Naomi Osaka and Jordan Roth, reflecting a distinctive approach to storytelling through design.

Robert Wun’s practice continues to push boundaries across couture and performance, demonstrating the global impact of LCF talent across fashion, culture and the arts.

Students from BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear, BA (Hons) Cordwainers Fashion Bags and Accessories, BA (Hons) Fashion Sportswear, BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Embroidery, BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Knit, BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Print came together to design ‘Wearable Tools’, modular systems built to move, protect, and perform.

Nine interdisciplinary teams responded to distinct micro-demographics, producing integrated silhouette systems of footwear, apparel, and accessories that balance performance, adaptability, and style.

Congratulations to Samuel Bentley, Catherine Guo, Haley Yu, Nick Reighard, Lilas Robin-Prevallee, Lily Brooke-Taylor, and Charley Huggett, whose team won the competition, and to individual prize winners Louisa Thewes, Ace Bottomley, Alina Song, and Lili Mizuno. Their work was featured in LCF’s Wolfson Gallery and recognised by Salomon for its innovation and hybridity.

This partnership between Salomon and LCF highlights the intersection of design, innovation, and adaptability, showcasing the value of hybridity and responsiveness in emerging designers navigating a transforming world.

A new exhibition has landed at London College of Fashion: Resonant Matter.

Resonant Matter explores the spaces and scenes where music, fashion and community come together. Told through archival storytelling and immersive installations, the exhibition traces a path from pirate radio and street protests to sound-system culture and club nights, revealing the many ways music and fashion influence one another to create new forms of expression, identity and belonging.

Resonant Matter is part of The Music is Black Festival, an East Bank-wide programme of events, performances, dance, screenings and more taking place across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from April – November 2026, celebrating the V&A East Museum’s inaugural exhibition, The Music is Black: A British Story.
