Community Project 🔧

Our construction students have been working with one of our incredible work experience partners VIY (Volunteer It Yourself) to transform the foodbank at the Rainbow Centre.

Over the past two weeks, the students have gained valuable hands-on experience by insulating and decorating the new area, whilst making a lasting contribution to a highly respected local charity.

Students also completed two days of sustainability training with a VIY assessor, exploring topics such as waste management, recycling and environmental responsibility in construction. Following a successful assessment, they achieved an NOCN Award in Environmental Awareness and Sustainability.

Thank you, VIY and the Rainbow Centre, for allowing our students to be part of this project.

Meet Alysha

Alysha studied T Level Health with us before progressing to university to study Paramedic Practice.

She credits the Crisis Day event – a scenario event simulating a mass incident – with making her want to study emergency response.

Alysha is in her final year at Teesside University and works as a first responder at events; she "absolutely loves it."

She says all of this has been made possible from studying T Level Health with us.

Great to catch up with you, Alysha!
