The courtesy visit was initiated to explore potential areas of collaboration between SLU and the Office of the Education and Culture Attaché, particularly in promoting Indonesian language and culture through the 𝐁𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐢 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐁𝐈𝐏𝐀) 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦. The initiative aims to provide opportunities for students to learn about Indonesia’s language, heritage, and traditions while fostering greater cultural understanding between the two countries.
The delegation also introduced scholarship programs offered by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to international students, including the 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐰𝐚 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐊𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 (𝐊𝐍𝐁) 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 (𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐒). These programs provide opportunities for international students to pursue educational experiences in Indonesia and engage in cross-cultural learning. Through the meeting, both institutions explored ways to encourage SLU students to participate in educational and cultural exchange programs.
Beyond scholarship opportunities, the visit highlighted the potential for future cooperation in language learning, student mobility, and academic exchange. By strengthening connections between educational institutions and international partners, the initiative seeks to expand opportunities for students to experience different cultures and broaden their academic perspectives.
The engagement reflects SLU’s continuing commitment to internationalization and global learning. By exploring partnerships with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, the University aims to support student development through accessible educational opportunities and meaningful intercultural exchanges.
The initiative also supports the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀’ 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀, particularly 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟰, (𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻), 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟴 (𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵), 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟭𝟳 (𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀), as SLU continues to build opportunities that prepare students for an increasingly globalized workplace.
