This 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, let us honor the rich cultures, traditions, and heritage of Indigenous Peoples while recognizing their rights, identity, and invaluable contributions to our society. Their stories, wisdom, and cultural practices are an important part of our shared history and continue to inspire future generations.

With the theme, “𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞,” let us strengthen our commitment to respecting their rights, protecting their ancestral heritage, and promoting understanding and inclusivity. May this celebration remind us of the importance of preserving cultural traditions and giving Indigenous communities the recognition and respect they deserve.

Together, let us celebrate diversity, embrace cultural identity, and help ensure that Indigenous Peoples’ voices, traditions, and heritage continue to thrive for generations to come.

The culmination of our Adopt-A-Family Program celebrates the power of compassion, generosity, and collective action in making a meaningful difference in the lives of families. More than a simple act of giving, this initiative reminds us that genuine service begins with a willing heart and a commitment to uplift others.

The event was graced by the presence of our SSG Adviser, Lemar Kim T. Bati-on, LPT, MAEd, together with our SAS Director, Renel Ganancial, LPT, MAT, who joined in celebrating this meaningful endeavor.

As we bring this initiative to a close, let us remember that our responsibility to serve does not end with the culmination of a program. Let this be a call to action for everyone to continue reaching out, sharing what we have, and standing alongside those who need support. Every helping hand, every generous heart, and every act of kindness can spark hope and inspire lasting change.

As part of the Kabankalan City Family Week 2026, the 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐒𝐒𝐆) joined the 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭-𝐚-𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

On September 25, 2026, the SSG spent a meaningful day with the Saboriga Family of Sitio Giunjalaran, Barangay Camansi.

The activity began with introductions and a Kamustahan Session led by Sir Lemar Kim Bati-on, LPT, MAEd, SSG Adviser, followed by an inspirational message from Jeanro Shean Jade P. Dela Cruz, SSG President, who emphasized the importance of education as a key to creating better opportunities and a brighter future for every family.

The day continued with sharing stories, having lunch together, and concluding with the giving of donations to the family.

Through this program, the Southland College community hopes to extend support, compassion, and practical help to a family in need. It is a simple reminder that helping others begins with being present, listening, and sharing what we can.
