For 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗣. 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼, an alumna of STI College Kalibo’s 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 program, education has become more than a stepping stone to a career, it has been a foundation for lifelong learning, professional growth, and meaningful service.
Now serving as a Tourism Operations Officer I at the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay, Jery Mae continues to apply the knowledge, skills, and values she developed during her time at STI. The guidance of dedicated mentors, friendships built along the way, and lessons learned both inside and outside the classroom helped shape her confidence, work ethic, and sense of responsibility.
Her journey was not without challenges. Balancing academic requirements, meeting deadlines, maintaining her performance, and managing limited financial resources tested her determination as a student. However, these experiences taught her the importance of discipline, perseverance, resourcefulness, and adaptability, qualities that continue to guide her in the professional world.
Looking back, Jery Mae shares an important reminder: trust the process, embrace every opportunity to learn, and do not let uncertainty keep you from moving forward. For her, every challenge is an opportunity to grow, improve, and make a meaningful contribution to the community.
Through her journey, Jery Mae reminds every STI student that success is not only measured by the career you build, but also by the values you carry and the positive impact you make along the way.
Your journey can inspire the next generation, too. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep making your story count!
