A little late, but appreciation is never out of season! 💛

Here's a quick look back at how the UST-Legazpi College of Law Student Council celebrated Teachers’ Day by preparing simple tokens of appreciation for our beloved professors, in addition to the thoughtful gifts and surprises from their respective students.

Though these gestures may be small, they carry our heartfelt gratitude for the wisdom, patience, and dedication our professors continue to share with us.

Behind the stern demeanor and reasonably strict standards is a professor whose brilliance is matched by his fairness, understanding, and genuine concern for his students. We fondly remember the letter you sent to our Bar examinees, encouraging them to ACE IT. It was more than a reminder to persevere; it was a gesture that showed your heart for your students and your faith in what they are capable of achieving.

You are a reminder that being a good mentor is not always about making things easy for your students, but about challenging them to become better while making sure they know that someone believes in their potential.

On your special day, may the Lord continue to bless you with wisdom, good health, and a joyful heart. May He reward you for the lives you continue to shape, the lessons you impart beyond the four corners of the classroom, and the care you show in ways your students may not always immediately see but will always remember.

And just like that, we’ve reached the final day! Six days of snacks, survival, and trying to keep our remaining brain cells alive through midterms. 🫠

For our final serving, pizza muna bago mag-breakdown. You definitely deserved a slice—and a little breather.

To all our law students, thank you for letting us be part of your midterm survival arc! Your smiles, “thank yous,” and participation made every day of Merienda Rights worth it. 💛

To the brilliant minds who spend their days subjecting us to the Socratic method and testing the limits of our caffeine tolerance: 𝓗𝓪𝓹𝓹𝔂 𝓣𝓮𝓪𝓬𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓼’ 𝓓𝓪𝔂 𝓽𝓸 𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓯𝓮𝓼𝓼𝓸𝓻𝓼!

Being a law professor requires a special kind of heroism—one that involves voluntarily reading hundreds of pages of obscure legal doctrines, grading essays that blur the line between brilliant argumentation and sheer panic, and maintaining a straight face when we attempt to cite cases we clearly skimmed in the hallway five minutes before class.

You are all our unsung heroes not just because you teach us what the law is, but because you teach us how to think, fight, and stand up for what is right. You push us past our comfort zones, turn our existential dread into analytical precision, and remind us that behind every statute and precedent are real human lives waiting for justice.

Thank you all for: Calling on us when we least expect it (and teaching us how to improvise under fire); Demanding excellence, even when we would settle for just getting through the syllabus; Showing us that being a lawyer isn’t just about winning an argument—it’s about having the integrity and courage to make a difference.

We may complain about the reading load today, but tomorrow we’ll be standing in courtrooms, boardrooms, and public spaces wearing the armour you helped us build.

Wishing a 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 to the professor who can interpret legislative intent in their sleep and divide an estate down to the exact legitime. May your day be strictly constitutional and completely immune to collateral attack!

Thank you for making even the most complicated provisions, cases, and legal concepts a little easier to understand—and for somehow keeping us awake through all of it. Your lessons go beyond what’s written in the law, and we truly appreciate the 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐫 you bring to class.
