Mr. Benito G. Reyes, Provincial Director of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) - Quezon, challenged the Southern Luzon State University - Lucena Class of 2026 to look beyond technical excellence as they enter the workforce. Speaking as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the campus 28th Commencement Exercises, he reminded the graduates that competence must always be paired with a strong ethical foundation.

He emphasized that while technical capabilities and academic qualifications provide initial opportunities, it is an individualโ€™s integrity, attitude, and moral that sustain long-term success. His message serves as a timely reminder for the graduates to remain grounded in their core values while navigating the competitive demands of their careers.

Hon. Nelson Licup delivered his commencement address during the 12th Commencement Exercises of Southern Luzon State University Gumaca Campus on June 16, 2026.

In his message, he reminded the graduates that success is not achieved through intelligence alone, but through hard work, discipline, dedication, loyalty, and strong values. He also encouraged them to face the changing world with critical thinking, innovation, confidence, and integrity.

He further emphasized that nation-building begins with every Filipino, not only with government leaders. He urged the Class of 2026 to become responsible citizens who choose honesty, discipline, and service as they use their education for their families, communities, and the country.
