This three-day activity aims to strengthen collaboration among faculty and staff, promote gender-responsive practices, and support continuous professional development through knowledge-sharing and learning sessions.

🏆Five BukSU BSIT Students Earn Level 4 Certification in the 14th TOPCIT Philippines🏆

Bukidnon State University proudly celebrates the achievement of five BSIT students who earned Level 4 certification, equivalent to Proficient, in the 14th Test of Practical Competency in IT (TOPCIT) Philippines, held on July 23, 2026.

Of the 164 BSIT students who took the competency assessment, five achieved Level 4 (Proficient), 24 attained Level 3 (Competent), 90 reached Level 2 (Advanced Beginner), and 45 received Level 1 (Novice).

The following students emerged as BukSU's top performers, earning Level 4 certification:
1. Joenil Acero
2. Tc Vash Everett Marshburn
3. Rayden Ivan Delfin
4. Christian Dave Pombo
5. Kathryn Villaganas

This achievement reflects the students' dedication to developing their technical competencies and the university's continuing commitment to delivering quality and industry-relevant Information Technology education.

The Test of Practical Competency in IT (TOPCIT) is a competency assessment developed by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation of the Republic of Korea. In the Philippines, its implementation is supported by the Commission on Higher Education as part of initiatives to strengthen computing and Information Technology education and align graduates' competencies with global industry standards.

TOPCIT evaluates students' practical IT knowledge and problem-solving abilities across key competency areas, including:
1. Software Development
2. Data Management
3. System Architecture and Information Security
4. IT Business

Through TOPCIT, students gain an opportunity to benchmark their competencies against established industry-oriented standards, helping them identify their strengths and areas for further professional development.

The Information Technology Department conducted an onboarding orientation for the newly hired instructor to familiarize them with the department’s academic procedures, institutional policies, and faculty responsibilities.

The orientation covered essential topics, including the Daily Time Record (DTR), preparing and submitting grade sheets, the grading system, the faculty portfolio, academic documentation, and other administrative and instructional requirements.

This activity aimed to give the new instructor a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities while promoting consistent academic practices and compliance with institutional guidelines.

The IT Department warmly welcomes our new faculty member and looks forward to his contributions to quality instruction, research, innovation, and student development.
