Happy Birthday, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso!

Having spent decades in academic leadership, I have come to appreciate even more deeply the responsibility that comes with serving people and shaping their future.

My journey in civic leadership has taken on a greater meaning through the opportunity to work alongside leaders like you, whose passion for public service and commitment to creating opportunities for every Manileño continue to inspire me.

Our paths met in a shared belief that education, opportunity, and public service must ultimately translate into better lives for the people we serve.

Thank you, Mayor, for reminding us that meaningful leadership is measured not only by what we accomplish, but by the difference we make.

Wishing you continued strength, wisdom, and success in serving our beloved Manila!

It was a meaningful opportunity to exchange insights and strengthen connections with fellow leaders from government, academe, and industry at the 9th Government Academe Industry Network (GAIN) National Convention, anchored on the theme “Beyond Future-Ready: Building a Future-Resilient Filipino Workforce.”

I had the privilege of serving in two capacities: as a facilitator for the networking exchange on “Filipino Values for Global Competitiveness” and as a panelist representing the academe sector in “Who Moves First? Aligning Government, Academe, and Industry to Strengthen the Workforce Pipeline.”

Both discussions reinforced an important perspective: preparing our graduates for the future requires more than academic qualifications and technical competencies. It calls for the development of values, adaptability, and stronger collaboration among institutions that share responsibility for shaping our workforce.

I am equally pleased to have been joined by our delegates from Universidad de Manila, as we continue to learn from fellow institutions, expand our professional networks, and explore opportunities that can further strengthen our University's programs and partnerships.

What a wonderful evening of celebration, reunion, and well-deserved recognition at our recently concluded UDM Testimonial Dinner for Licensure Board Exam Passers!

It was heartwarming to see our graduates come together once again, sharing warm embraces, laughter, stories, and memories of their time at the University.

More than a celebration of passing the board examinations, the evening reminded us of UDM's strength as a multidisciplinary institution, producing professionals across different fields who are ready to make meaningful contributions to their communities.

One of the highlights of the evening was the awarding of cash incentives through an initiative of UDM supported by the City Government of Manila, in recognition of outstanding licensure examination performances:

🏅 ₱50,000 – Jerielle Doriquez Absin, Top 5 placer in the 2026 Licensure Examination for Psychometricians.

🏅 ₱15,000 – College of Arts and Sciences, Psychology Program, for producing a Top 5 placer.

🏅 ₱10,000 – College of Arts and Sciences, Social Work Program, for ranking 9th among the Top Performing Schools in the 2026 Licensure Examination for Social Workers.

🏅 ₱10,000 – College of Criminal Justice, for ranking 9th among the Top Performing Schools in the 2026 Licensure Examination for Criminologists.

To our faculty and academic leaders, thank you for your dedication to guiding our students toward these achievements.

Congratulations to our awardees and newly licensed psychometricians, physical therapists, criminologists, social workers, and professional teachers!

Seeing our teachers share moments of laughter, receive well-deserved recognition, and simply enjoy a celebration dedicated to them during the recently concluded celebration of the National and World Teachers' Day was a meaningful reminder that behind every great institution are people whose dedication makes its achievements possible.

To our UDM educators, thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students and to the communities we serve. May you always find fulfillment in knowing that the lives you touch today will carry your influence for generations to come.

My heartfelt appreciation also goes to everyone who worked together to make this celebration possible.

“Hindi natatapos ang gagawin.”

These were my closing words during my weekly meeting, not as a reminder of the work that remains unfinished, but as an affirmation that our purpose continues to grow, our responsibilities evolve, and our commitment to serve becomes even stronger.

We continue to be challenged not only by the demands of our respective roles and expertise, but also by how well we collaborate, support one another, and turn our collective efforts into meaningful results.

There will always be more to accomplish, more to improve, and more opportunities to make a difference. And that is something we should welcome with renewed enthusiasm and a shared sense of purpose.
