DAY 1 | 8th Regional Convention & 2026 Regional CpE Challenge

The wait is over! Day 1 of the 8th Regional Convention and 2026 Regional CpE Challenge officially begins today, October 8, 2026, at Western Leyte College of Ormoc.

📍 Assembly Time: 7:00 AM
👕 Attire: Departmental Shirt

As participants, officers, and delegates come together for the opening, we look forward to a meaningful start filled with learning, camaraderie, competition, and new connections among Computer Engineering students.

We’re hoping for good weather and a smooth, successful opening as we begin three days of activities and experiences that celebrate the passion and skills of future Computer Engineers.

A Month Later, The Memories Remain | WLC Intramurals 2026

It has already been a month since the Western Leyte College Intramurals 2026, but the memories from those days still feel worth looking back on.

From the excitement of the games to the laughter, playful moments, unexpected challenges, and hard-fought matches, the Intramurals gave everyone moments to enjoy—and lessons to carry beyond the competition.

The success of the event was made possible through the collective effort of the athletes, students, instructors, dean, and student officers, all playing their part throughout the celebration. Our officers, in particular, worked tirelessly to guide and manage the students, helping keep everyone organized, involved, and ready to participate.

As part of the WLC community, CICTE was there to take part, compete, support, and contribute to the spirit of the Intramurals. Through every win, loss, cheer, struggle, and challenge, we saw the importance of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and simply enjoying the experience together.

Now that the games have passed, these photos give us a chance to look back at the moments that made Intramurals 2026 memorable.

A month later, the competition may be over—but the memories, friendships, and lessons remain. 🏆❤️

Expanding Opportunities Beyond Borders | October 5, 2026

A day of learning, conversations, and new connections unfolded at Western Leyte College of Ormoc as the College of ICT and Engineering (CICTE) welcomed representatives from the Software Development Centre (SDC) of the University of Danang, Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Le Bao Duy, SDC Apprentice and Dr. Nguyen Ha Huy Cuong, Director of SDC, joined our students and faculty for an engaging exchange that gave our learners a closer look at international opportunities in the technology field.

A highlight of the gathering was the sharing of experiences from the pioneer batch of WLC students who took part in the International Internship Program earlier this year. Their stories offered a glimpse into what students can gain when academic learning is complemented by actual industry exposure, advanced technologies, and an international working environment.

With BSIT, BSCpE, and BSCS students all part of CICTE, the collaboration opens a wider avenue for learners across our programs to consider the International Internship Program and experience opportunities beyond the local setting.

From conversations inside the classroom to experiences across international borders, CICTE continues to create spaces where students can connect, learn, and prepare for a future in a global technology community.

Building Connections Beyond Borders | Welcoming the University of Danang – SDC

On October 5, 2026, the College of ICT and Engineering (CICTE), Western Leyte College of Ormoc warmly welcomed Mr. Nguyen Le Bao Duy, SDC Apprentice and Dr. Nguyen Ha Huy Cuong, Director of the Software Development Centre of the University of Danang, Vietnam, for a meaningful visit and exchange of experiences.

The visit featured a wonderful talk and sharing session highlighting the experiences of the pioneer batch of WLC students who participated in the International Internship Program earlier in 2026. Their experiences provided valuable insight into the opportunities, challenges, and learning that come with gaining exposure beyond the local academic environment.

Through the collaboration between SDC and CICTE, students are given opportunities to gain hands-on experience, exposure to advanced technologies, international connections, and meaningful cross-cultural experiences that can further prepare them for the global technology industry.

Students from the three programs under CICTE—Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE), and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS)—were warmly invited and encouraged to explore and participate in the International Internship Program.

For our students, opportunities like these go beyond the classroom. They open doors to new technologies, new perspectives, and new connections across borders.

CICTE looks forward to strengthening this partnership and creating more opportunities for our students to learn, connect, and grow on an international stage. 🌏💻
