Following the announcement of the Quezon City Government on its official page, the UP Diliman (UPD) Office of the Chancellor announced that face-to-face classes at UPD today, 11 September 2026, are suspended due to inclement weather. The members of the faculty are enjoined to conduct alternative modes of learning (synchronous/asynchronous).

Work operations in all UPD units shall remain onsite.

This book talk presents Marcos, Martial Law, and the Complexities of Memory in the Philippines (Routledge, 2026). The edited volume examines memory as an arena of contestation and offers analytical tools for understanding authoritarian nostalgia in the face of democratic challenges.

It will feature a roundtable discussion by the editors and select chapter authors, including Asst. Professor Francisco Jayme Paolo A. Guiang, Maria Sofia Amparo F. Santiago-Jimenez, Asst. Prof. John Carlo S. Punongbayan, and Assoc. Prof. Jay Rome de los Santos. Prof. Patricio N. Abinales, Ph.D., from the University of Hawaii-Manoa, will provide commentary on the discussion.
