𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | On 25 October 2026, the PUP Ragay Campus Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit Training Staff under the leadership of LTC ARVIN B. CABANTUG CE (GSC) PA, Commandant of the PUP Ragay ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 7th training day.
‎
‎The training activities begun by attending the flag-raising ceremony, embodying patriotism, discipline, and respect for the country's symbol as young cadets. This was followed by the assembly inside the PUP Ragay Campus Gymnasium, instructing every cadets to participate in cleaning activity at the PUP Quadrangle. The training day covered the continuation of company-based cooking preparation, along with lessons on how to start a fire without any fire-starter tools and the usage of traditional bamboo (kawayan) cooking, highlighting how natural materials are used in outdoor and survival settings, also the fi****ms safety training and weapons orientation. It teaches the different types and parts of weapons along with the rules and practices to handle gun safely.

‎Lessons are also imparted along with the practical practices, military instructors taught students about the Pursuit of Excellence, Pride in Uniform, Discipline, Professionalism, Adherence to Law, and Deference to Authority, this taught the importance of character, patriotism, and leadership. It teaches to go beyond what is required, reminds that everyone represents the country and must carry the honor with dignity, also to build the self-control and credibility needed to lead and be trusted,
‎reminds that power is always guided by justice and respect for the Constitution, teaching that true leadership begins with humility and respect.

‎The training day concluded, teaching every cadets about the most essential values that a cadets must have, such as discipline, determination, perseverance, and resourcefulness. Giving them knowledge about the foundation of ROTC that shapes not just skilled cadets, but responsible citizens.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | On 18 October 2026, the PUP Ragay Campus Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit Training Staff under the leadership of LTC ARVIN B. CABANTUG CE (GSC) PA, Commandant of the PUP Ragay ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 5th and 6th training day.

The training activities aimed to enhance the cadets’ military knowledge, discipline, teamwork, leadership skills, and practical competencies essential to their development as future leaders and responsible citizens. The activities commenced with a flag-raising ceremony, which fostered patriotism, respect for the national flag, and a strong sense of duty among the cadets. This was followed by drills and ceremonies, during which the cadets practiced proper military formations, movements, and commands. These exercises emphasized precision, coordination, alertness, and obedience to commands, reinforcing the importance of military bearing, discipline, and unit cohesion.

As part of the practical training activities, the cadets participated in company-based cooking preparations for lunch. This activity promoted teamwork, resourcefulness, cooperation, and responsibility among the members of each company. It also provided the cadets with an opportunity to enhance their organizational skills, manage available resources, and work collaboratively toward a common objective.

Under the supervision of CPT DENNIS A. BARIOGA (INF) PA, Assistant Commandant of the PUP Ragay ROTC Unit and CMO Officer of 81st Infantry Battalion, the cadets also underwent training in basic survival techniques. One of the activities involved learning how to start a fire without the use of a lighter or matches. This exercise introduced the cadets to essential outdoor survival skills and highlighted the importance of patience, creativity, adaptability, and resourcefulness in challenging situations. The cadets also learned the traditional method of cooking using bamboo (kawayan), demonstrating the practical application of natural materials in outdoor cooking and survival scenarios. These activities reinforced the importance of preparedness, self-reliance, and responsible resource utilization during outdoor activities.

Another significant component of the training was weapons familiarization and fi***rm safety instruction. The cadets were introduced to the cardinal rules of gun safety, emphasizing responsible fi***rm handling, maintaining muzzle awareness, keeping fi****ms pointed in a safe direction, and treating every fi***rm as if it were loaded. The instruction highlighted the importance of strict compliance with safety procedures and the need to exercise discipline and responsibility during all weapons-related activities. Furthermore, the cadets received instruction on the general characteristics, general data, and cycle of operations of the M16 r***e to develop their understanding of its basic features, specifications, and operating principles. The training also included the supervised disassembling and assembling of M16 r***es, familiarizing the cadets with the r***e’s major components and the procedures involved in basic field stripping and reassembly. These activities were conducted with strict emphasis on safety protocols, proper supervision, and responsible handling of training fi****ms.

Overall, the conduct of the 5th and 6th training days provided the PUP Ragay Campus ROTC cadets with valuable opportunities to enhance their military bearing, practical survival skills, teamwork, and knowledge of fi***rm safety and weapons familiarization. The combination of ceremonial activities, practical field exercises, and technical instruction contributed to the holistic development of the cadets, preparing them to become more disciplined, capable, and responsible individuals.

Under the leadership of LTC ARVIN B. CABANTUG CE (GSC) PA, Commandant, and with the supervision of CPT DENNIS A. BARIOGA (INF) PA, Assistant Commandant, the PUP Ragay Campus ROTC Unit remains committed to developing competent, disciplined, and service-oriented cadets who embody patriotism, leadership, integrity, and dedication to the nation.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | On 20 September 2026, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Ragay Campus ROTC Unit under the leadership of LTC ARVIN B CABANTUG CE (GSC) PA, Conmandant successfully conducted the Opening Ceremony of Reserve Officers' Training Corps School Year 2026-2027 and Donning of Ranks to Newly Promoted Advance Cadet Officers held at PUP Ragay Campus Gymnasium, Brgy Lower Sta Cruz, Ragay, Camarines Sur.

‎The military instructors led a comprehensive orientation. They laid out exactly what to expect, covering the core assessment metrics and the essential discipline rules that will guide everyone during their training days.
‎
‎The ceremony continued with the formal donning of ranks for the newly promoted Advance Cadet Officers, marking a significant milestone in their leadership journey. To close out the event and inspire a deeper sense of duty, the Military Personnel showed a video presentation on the current situation in the West Philippine Sea, giving the cadets a valuable lesson on national sovereignty and their role in the country's future.

‎𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | On 11 October 2026, the 3rd and 4th ROTC Training Days took place at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Ragay Campus Gymnasium. Led by the ROTC Training Staff under the leadership of LTC ARVIN B CABANTUG CE (GSC) PA, Commandant. The activity focused on educating the cadets about the basic ROTC drills and military knowledge.
‎
‎The training activities begun with the assembly of cadets according to their respective platoons inside the PUP Gymnasium, proceeding to campus cleaning. Then, attended the discussion and ex*****on of the basic military drills, such as the proper standing posture and command ex*****on. It also included lessons about the proper military courtesy and discipline, and the importance of followership.

‎The discussions aims to develop not just the proper military posture but also the morale and character among cadets. The whole day activity concludes, imprinting knowledge and awareness about essential ROTC concepts to each cadets mind.

‎The 𝗣𝗨𝗣 𝗚𝘆𝗺𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆, 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿 was filled with pride and joy on September 15 as our graduates celebrated their commencement ceremony, shared with the dedicated 𝗣𝗨𝗣 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀 who supported them throughout their academic journey.
‎
‎The highlight of the event was the traditional 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆. Our graduates walked beneath a proud arch of swords formed by the 𝗣𝗨𝗣 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 a meaningful symbol of honor, bravery, and a formal welcome into their next chapters as leaders. The cadets also executed a precise and respectful 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀, setting a dignified tone for the official oathtaking that followed.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | ‎On 30 August 2026, the official registration for the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) was successfully conducted at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Ragay Campus Gymnasium. Led by the ROTC Command Staff and Advanced Cadet Officers under the supervision of military instructors, the registration activity aimed to systematically sort, evaluate, and register basic cadets. This process established the foundational database and organizational structure necessary to prepare the student body for their upcoming 1st Official Training Day under Military Science 1 (MS1).
‎
‎Cadets were instructed to assemble outside the PUP Ragay Campus Gymnasium, forming orderly queues based on their height and gender to establish proper military alignment. The officers then sorted the cadets based on their specific physical capabilities, academic backgrounds, and personal preferences, directing them to specialized stations setup for their chosen sections.

The processing continued efficiently as each cadet’s information was cross-checked, verified, and logged into the official ROTC registry. To preserve institutional uniformity and neatness, noting down required changes to hairstyles and grooming standards in compliance with military decorum.
