𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐇𝐒 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐒𝐔𝐒𝐂

Pangasinan State University - San Carlos City Campus welcomed the second batch of Senior High School work immersion students from Gospel of Christ School during the deployment held on May 18 and 19, 2026, at the campus.

A total of 22 students from the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) and Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strands officially began their 40-hour work immersion across different offices and units of the university.

The deployment was facilitated by Dr. Charmaine P. Pintes, Internship, Skill and Career Development Coordinator, together with Ms. Angeline G. Ursua, faculty member of Gospel of Christ School, who accompanied and assisted the students during the deployment process.

The immersion students were welcomed by Campus Executive Director Dr. Gudelia M. Samson, who acknowledged the value of experiential learning and workplace exposure in preparing learners for future academic and professional pursuits.

The work immersion program provides students with opportunities to gain firsthand experience in office operations, communication, and workplace responsibilities within the university setting.

Humility is characterized by meekness, lowliness, and the absence of self-centeredness. It literally means “lowliness of mind,” reminding us that humility begins in the heart and is shown through our attitude toward others.

Furthermore, humility is practiced through listening with respect, accepting correction with openness, and recognizing the value and contributions of others. It allows us to learn continuously, work harmoniously, and grow with grace regardless of achievements or position.

PSUnians, humility is more than outward actions; it is a mindset that chooses kindness over pride and learning over self-importance. A humble heart creates stronger relationships, healthier collaboration, and a community grounded in respect.

PSU San Carlos conducted a Turnitin Onboarding Session earlier today, May 13, 2026, at the Learning Resource Center – Discussion Room. Attended by deans, program and department chairpersons, and campus officials, this activity serves as an important capacity-building effort that supports faculty and students.

Dr. And Julie D. Rosal, Head for Sustainable Development and Futures Thinking, Master Class Mentor, and Lecturer, led the activity with a comprehensive walkthrough of the platform’s features and proper application. Dr. Myra C. Catungal, University Head for Learning & Instructional Materials Development, joined him, alongside Assistant Prof. Reynald D. Gloria, Campus Focal Person for Grammar & Plagiarism Checking, who also shared practical insights on how faculty and students can maximize the tool to ensure originality, improve writing quality, and observe ethical standards in all academic outputs.

The session received full support from Dr. Gudelia M. Samson, Campus Executive Director, who emphasized that this capacity-building activity is vital in equipping academic leaders to guide their respective departments toward better compliance with research and writing standards.

This initiative stands as part of the institution’s continuous commitment to excellence, aligned with the innovative leadership of PSU President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas. Under his guidance, the university remains dedicated to championing academic integrity and elevating the quality of institutional research, ensuring that PSU produces credible, globally competitive, and ethically sound scholarly work.

Cheers, applause, and proud smiles filled the halls of Pangasinan State University - San Carlos City Campus as the campus welcomed home its newest topnotchers from the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).

Returning to the campus that honed their dreams were Mr. Ivan M. Bautista, who secured Top 4, and Ms. Rosana Mae C. Diaz, who landed at Top 5 in the Elementary Level category.

Just a day after the official release of results, preparations for the homecoming were already underway. Faculty members, administrators, and students eagerly gathered to celebrate the achievement of the two Golden Lions whose success once again placed PSU San Carlos in the national spotlight.

University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas expressed his pride over the achievement, sharing that the two topnotchers from the San Carlos campus are part of the 25 board topnotchers produced across the PSU System in the recent LEPT.

Leading the welcome were officials from the College of Teacher Education headed by Dr. Shirley L. Milanes, Dean of CTE. Dr. Milanes shared that the achievement is both a blessing and a proud moment for the campus, proving once more that PSU San Carlos continues to produce future educators who excel on the national stage, truly .

Also present during the homecoming were Ms. Lenibabes A. Doria, BEEd Chairperson, and Ms. Paula Marie De Vera, Bachelem Adviser, who both witnessed the journey of the topnotchers from their student days, through competitions, trainings, and academic milestones, up to their latest triumph in the LEPT.

For Dr. Arceli Adoracion G. Ramos, former CTE Dean and now Chairperson for Professional Education, the moment felt deeply personal. She recalled how she had long hoped and prayed that this batch would produce topnotchers. Now, that vision has turned into reality, not with one, but two names in the national rankings.

Dr. Gudelia M. Samson, Campus Executive Director, likewise expressed her joy during the celebration, sharing how proud the campus is of another milestone achieved by the Teacher Education program. The success of Bautista and Diaz further strengthens PSU San Carlos’ reputation as a campus that produces top-performing educators.

Joining the celebration were Hon. Chin Kirby S. Apellido, Student Regent, together with the BEEd core faculty members, CTE faculty, and members of BACHELEM, the student organization of the Bachelor of Elementary Education program, all gathered to honor and celebrate the achievement of the two board topnotchers.

The celebration concluded with a fellowship lunch shared among faculty members, administrators, students, and guests, wrapping up a memorable homecoming filled with pride, gratitude, and inspiration.
