Yestersay, the UT System Board of Regents said goodbye to student Regent Luke Schwartz. "From the bottom of my heart, thank you," Schwartz told the board. "I could never truly have imagined how impactful this experience would be. Having the privilege to represent students from across one of the largest university systems in the country, and to have a seat at this table, is one of the greatest honors of my life."

🔬 In medical imaging, there's a stubborn tradeoff: seeing deep into the body often means sacrificing fine detail. New National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research at The University of Texas at Arlington is working to change that. The goal: imaging that reaches centimeter-deep tissue — the depth where tumors hide and vascular disease develops — to enhance detection and decision making. https://www.uta.edu/news/news-releases/2026/05/18/seeing-deeper-without-losing-detail

For decades, scientists have studied the genetic and molecular features of cancers, offering important but limited insights. Advances in spatial biology, functional genomics, big data, and AI are making it possible to study cancer at the individual cell level. To capitalize on these advances, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center is launching the Center for Cellular Language Intelligence, thanks to generous support from Peggy and Carl Sewell. The center's mission is clear: unlock the complex communications that govern tumor ecosystems to unlock a new generation of treatments.

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center today announced a $10 million gift from Peggy and Carl Sewell to establish the Center for Cellular Language Intelligence, a groundbreaking new research center created to understand the behavior of cancer cells at an unprecedented resolution, enabling...

Scholarships and financial aid across the UT System help students pursue their passions and prepare for what comes next. At UTSA - The University of Texas at San Antonio, support like this allowed art student Arwen Addison to focus on her education, deepen her creative practice, and build a foundation for a future in the arts. “My scholarships really helped ease the burden of pursuing a degree,” says Addison. “For most of my time in college, I was able to just be a full-time student. That gave me the time to focus on my studies and develop my craft.”

Arwen Addison, who will graduate this May, is currently working with artist Cristina Sosa Noriega on a mural in Downtown San Antonio.
