CCBC Alumni Spotlight: Amara Topp | Achieving Greatness!
From CCBC to the University of Baltimore, Amara Topp is proving that persistence, determination, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities can lead to incredible experiences!
Amara earned her Associate of Applied Science in Accounting from CCBC in 2026 and is now pursuing her bachelor's degree in Accounting at the University of Baltimore, with plans to graduate in May 2028.
Like many transfer students, Amara initially felt both excited and nervous about starting at a new institution. However, by attending campus events, meeting new people, and getting involved, she quickly found her place in the university community.
One of her most rewarding experiences has been working as a Student Assistant through a work-study position. This opportunity has allowed her to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, develop professional skills, and support meaningful campus initiatives, including assisting with the university's food pantry.
Amara has also made an impact beyond the classroom through the University of Baltimore's Community Service Day, where she helped assemble naloxone packets for distribution to communities affected by opioid overdoses. The experience reinforced her belief that even small actions can make a meaningful difference.
Amara's Advice to Current CCBC Students:
"Keep pushing forward, even when the journey feels difficult."
Amara reminds students that every completed assignment, challenge overcome, and lesson learned contributes to their future. Even when progress feels slow or grades aren't what they hoped for, their efforts matter.
Her message? Stay focused, believe in yourself, and remember that success comes from persistence!
Amara's journey is a wonderful reminder that completing a degree at CCBC is not the end of the story. It's the foundation for everything that comes next!
Congratulations, Amara! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next!
