Launched in 2019, the Funeral Service program at NSCC, located on the Danvers campus, offers an affordable and accessible option to earn a Funeral Service Associate Degree. This two-year degree, with 24 courses and 72 credits, is offered in a one day a week format. The degree program combines classroom, lab and clinical training both in its state of the art on campus facilities and at off-site cli
nical sites. Classes take place on Tuesdays each semester, making it easier for students to maintain employment while earning their degree. The classes are offered in a hybrid format with some classwork completed online and some face-to-face. Classes run for seven weeks, rather than the typical 15 weeks, which allows students to concentrate on three classes at the same time. The FNS program was initiated with the robust support of local funeral providers. The program continues to maintain strong ties and collaboration with funeral homes within the Commonwealth and greater New England. CAUTION: Students applying for admission to NSCC Funeral Services Associate in Applied Science degree program should contact their respective state licensing agency regarding that state agencyβs approval of this particular program of instruction.
