Studying history at Stetson University is a great opportunity for students to reconstruct the past in order to better understand the present. History is a comprehensive discipline; it lies at the heart of a liberal education. In acquiring knowledge and understanding of the past, you develop awareness of the connectedness of human experience and events. The history department at Stetson University

offers a broad selection of courses in the history of the United States and ancient, medieval and modern European history. This core is supported by courses in Latin American, Asian and African history. Some of the department's courses are also part of the multidisciplinary programs of the university in Russian, Latin American, African and international studies.
