30 Years of Excellence! 💚🦅

What a celebration! Our department marked its 30th anniversary on Oct. 23, bringing together faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends to celebrate three decades of innovation, research and academic excellence!

The day kicked off at Discovery Park with special alumni seminars from Dr. Jessica Rimsza of Sandia National Laboratories and Dr. Sivanesh (Shiv) Palanivel of Tesla, followed by lab tours, networking and our student poster and scientific art showcases! 🔬

The celebration continued at the DATCU Stadium HUB Club with an evening banquet featuring Dr. Jincheng Du’s vision for the department’s future and special addresses from former department chairs Dr. Bruce Gnade and Dr. Michael Kaufman.

We also proudly honored Dr. Rimsza and Dr. Palanivel with Outstanding Alumni Awards and recognized our student competition winners!

A special thank you to Dr. Albert Bimper, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs, and Dr. Paul Krueger, dean of the UNT College of Engineering, for joining us. We’re grateful to everyone who has contributed to our department’s success over the past 30 years!

Here’s to the next 30 years of discovery, innovation and excellence! 💚
