Dr. Green's CURR 213 class continues to keep up the great work with their partnership at Geneseo Elementary! Students most recently worked with first graders to teach literacy-based lessons. These students have demonstrated tremendous growth in their teaching personas and confidence!

Come support SUNY Geneseo’s LIVES Program next week on Monday (10/26), Tuesday (10/27), and Wednesday (10/28), as they will be selling Boo Grams in the MacVittie College Union. Boo Grams are a perfect way to spread kindness, appreciation, and Halloween Spirit!

On Monday, student teachers gathered in Milne Library for their midpoint conference, organized by Professor Billy Bean and Dr. Marcie Prinzi. Students had the opportunity to attend breakout sessions of their choice (thank you to Charles Martelle, Lisa Battista, and Mary Kate Hoffman from Pavillion, Todd Campbell, Erin Krist, Dr. Pam Wilkie, and Rachel Webster from Letchworth, and Geneseo faculty and staff SOE Dean Ann Monroe-Baillargeon, Alan Witt, Billy Bean, Heather Morens, and Marcie Prinzi) as well as meeting their new University Based Teacher Educators (UBTEs) for their second placement. We wish all student teachers the best of luck!

Come to the TLC Virtual Reality Showcase on Tuesday, October 27th in the Milne Multipurpose Room! The demonstration will introduce how virtual reality (VR) can enhance learning beyond traditional methods like books and lectures. Join us to experience how educators and learners us VR to present ideas, research, collaborate and expand classroom boundaries. Explore new possibilities in VR based immersive
education! *Facilitated by the School of Education and TLC, led by Dr. James Oigara.*

This week, the Office of Field Experiences participated in Walt Disney Elementary's Fall Festival! Our GA's and Julie ran a very successful pumpkin bowling booth, and participants won Geneseo swag and candy. We are very appreciative to have such a great relationship with Gates Chili Central School District, and are excited to be a part of their wonderful community.

On Tuesday, Dr. Kalenda, Dr. Yurkewecz, and Dr. Shema’s CURR 213/316 students taught a lesson to first and second graders at Geneseo Elementary School. Students learned about literary elements, bird beaks, and more using the children’s book “Chooch Helped”. This 2024 picture book was written by Andrea L. Rogers and illustrated by Rebecca Lee Kunz, both citizens of the Cherokee Nation.
