Triplets Chiamaka, Somto and Anita Anigbogu graduated from UH together after four years of growing independently while leaning on an unshakable bond.

Each sibling followed their own path: Chiamaka earned a degree in economics, Somto earned a degree in management information systems and Anita earned a degree in computer information systems.

As their journeys continue in new directions, one thing stays the same: they’ll always have each other.

Engaged to be married and graduating from law school together, Emma Jenny and Tanner Shae are closing one UH chapter and beginning another.

What began as a chance encounter near the law library printers during their first year quickly became something much bigger. “I coined a term in my first semester called ‘LSC’ — law school crush — and when I found out I was Emma’s LSC too, the rest, as they say, was history,” Shae said.

Three years, two law degrees and one engagement later, they’re preparing for the Texas bar exam, new legal careers and a Hawaiian ranch wedding next summer.

Congratulations, Emma and Tanner! 🎓❤️

Desiree Davis once toured the world with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Usher. Now, she’s bringing that same stage-tested discipline to the science classroom.

After two decades as a professional dancer, the native Houstonian returned to college to pursue a new calling: teaching middle school science.

Now cancer-free after battling breast cancer twice while completing coursework and teaching in a residency position, Davis has graduated summa cm laude from UH and is beginning her next chapter as a sixth-grade science teacher in CFISD.

Congratulations, Desiree! 🎓🤩

More than 7,800 Coogs will cross the stage this week as the University of Houston celebrates the largest graduating class in its history.

The Class of ’26 includes nearly 5,800 bachelor’s degree recipients, about 1,300 master’s degree recipients and more than 200 doctoral graduates. Nearly one-third of the class is graduating with honors.

From an 18-year-old Bauer College graduate to a 69-year-old doctoral graduate, this historic class represents thousands of stories, achievements and next chapters. Congratulations, Coogs!

The secret's out!

Congratulations to Maya Guerra (aka the Cougar bundle of joy Sasha) on graduating from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Teaching and Learning with a minor in Business Administration! You've probably met Maya before at Houston Cougars athletic events, bringing that signature Sasha energy that can only be found here at UH.

Best of luck on the future and thank you for all your contributions to the Cougar spirit!

The newest class rings just got the cougars’ seal of approval! 😺

Before they’re presented to students and alumni, UH class rings spend the day in the care of Shasta VII and Louie at the Houston Zoo as part of one of our most treasured traditions: Guarding of the Rings.

UH students can visit the cougars at the Houston Zoo for free by reserving tickets on the zoo’s website and bringing their Cougar Card.

Celebrating 75 years of MD Anderson Library! 📚

MD Anderson Library first opened on April 1, 1951. Since then, it’s grown significantly through multiple expansions, including the Blue, Brown and Gold Wings, becoming a 400,000-square-foot facility while remaining the University’s central library.

Now, UH Libraries is looking toward its next chapter through the Reimagined Library, a vision for modern, flexible and inspiring spaces and services that meet the evolving needs of UH students, faculty and scholars. The project will create more study space, support collaboration, expand opportunities for research and engagement and continue shaping the library as a focal point for the UH community.

Today’s new U.S. News & World Report rankings show continued momentum for the University of Houston, with 19 graduate programs in the top 50 and 48 in the top 100.

That’s up from 15 programs in the top 50 last year, with four now ranked in the top 10 nationally, including three at the University of Houston Law Center.

The University of Houston is proud to announce plans for a third tower at Moody Towers, expanding one of campus’ most recognizable residential communities for the first time since the original towers opened in 1970.

The new addition, tentatively named Moody Tower III, will feature an identical design to the north tower following careful consultation with experts. “There was no way for us to improve upon this 1970s design marvel,” said the project lead.

The planned construction of the new tower answers the long-standing question of why there were only two when there was, by all visual accounts, space for three.

University officials say more information will be released in the coming months, assuming the project survives the rigorous approval process, final design review and the fact that it is April 1.

We’re happy to share that some more of the construction fencing for UH’s Centennial Construction Project has been removed on campus! 🌳

The area of Centennial Plaza closest to the entrance of the Ezekiel W. Cullen Building opened up this week, which means there is now more room to walk and enjoy some of the new space. We’re excited for you to see the rest in the coming months! ⛲️
