Today, Texas Southern University turned a vision for the future into the first steps of something tangible. 🏗️🐯
We officially broke ground on three transformational facilities: the Catalyst for Urban Transformation, the Nabrit Science Center, and the Health and Wellness Center, marking the first phase of the University’s $1.7 billion Master Plan 2025–2035: Building the Next Century of Texas Southern.
The Catalyst for Urban Transformation will feature spaces including the Nexus One-Stop-Shop, Graduate Student Welcome Center, and Smith Center for Entrepreneurship, creating an ecosystem where education, research, entrepreneurship, and innovation intersect.
The reimagined Nabrit Science Center will serve as a cornerstone for scientific discovery and innovation, with state-of-the-art core facilities, advanced instrumentation, and collaborative research spaces designed to expand Texas Southern’s research enterprise.
The Health and Wellness Center will serve as a bridge between Texas Southern, the Third Ward, and the broader Houston community by expanding access to health education, wellness resources, and preventive care initiatives.
Spanning 20 ambitious projects over the next ten years, this campus transformation honors Texas Southern’s upcoming Centennial while securing a bold foundation for the next century of excellence in achievement.
At Texas Southern University, we’re not just preparing for the next century; we’re building it!
