💙 UAH Nursing had a great time at Wellness Fest 2026!

Hosted by the UAH Counseling Center, Wellness Fest brings campus and community resources together to promote overall well-being and connect students with helpful services and activities.

Our NUR 310: Fundamentals of Nursing students got involved by sharing information about UAH’s nursing programs, playing health education games (with prizes!), checking blood pressure, and administering flu shots—all while earning valuable clinical hours!

Assistant Professor Tammy Shultz was there, too, connecting with students throughout the event.

👏 We’re proud of our students for putting their knowledge into action and helping promote wellness across campus!

UAH College of Nursing is hosting Pediatric Assessment Day on Monday, January 11, and we're inviting families in the community to participate!

It’s a great opportunity for children to experience a healthcare setting while helping our nursing students gain valuable pediatric experience.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Every community deserves skilled, compassionate nurses - that’s exactly what we’re here to produce. UAH College of Nursing has been doing this work for more than 50 years.

The nursing program began in 1971 when the Alabama Legislature established the UAH School of Nursing. The first dean, Dr. Kathryn Crossland, was appointed in September 1971, and the first students were admitted to the professional nursing curriculum for the fall of 1972.

An important milestone to celebrate 🎉 our UAH nurses make an impact every single day!

❤️ A 100th birthday invitation like no other! 🎉

While 99-year-old Kathleen Contillo was in our Acute Surgical Care Unit recovering from pneumonia, she formed a special connection with 27-year-old Registered Nurse Ramah Mohsin.

As a former nurse herself, Kathleen felt an instant bond with Ramah. Her morning routine? Putting on her lipstick and playfully calling Ramah her "boyfriend" whenever he walked into her hospital room! 💄✨

Their connection grew so strong that Kathleen insisted Ramah be there for her milestone 100th birthday party — and he wouldn't have missed it for the world. 🥳🎂

We are so proud of the healthcare heroes like Ramah who bring exceptional care and heart to our patients every day. Happy 100th Birthday, Kathleen! 💐
