Staying safe on the road is a lifelong commitment. As experienced drivers, keeping our skills sharp and adapting to changing conditions ensures we protect ourselves and everyone else on the road.
➡️Schedule regular checkups. Prioritize annual vision and hearing exams to stay sharp.
➡️Audit your medications. Discuss side effects with your doctor or pharmacist to ensure your prescriptions don't impact your driving.
➡️Drive at optimal times. If visibility or fast traffic feels challenging, stick to daytime driving and avoid rush hour or heavy storms.
➡️Eliminate cabin distractions. Keep the focus entirely on the road ahead by putting your phone away and lowering radio volume. Experience is our greatest asset on the road—let’s pair it with the best safety habits!

🚗 Aggressive driving is any unsafe driving behavior performed deliberately and with a disregard for safety. Behaviors like speeding in heavy traffic, tailgating, weaving through lanes, and running red lights put everyone at risk! If you encounter an aggressive driver, the most important thing to do is protect yourself and stay calm. Here is how to handle a dangerous situation safely.
🛑 Get out of the way: Safely change lanes or pull over to let them pass. Put your pride aside and do not try to challenge them or block the passing lane.
🚫 Do not engage: Avoid making direct eye contact, which can escalate their anger. Ignore rude gestures and resist the urge to react or honk back.
📱 Report serious behavior: If a driver is endangering others, have a passenger call 911, or safely pull over to make the call yourself. Provide a description of the vehicle and the license plate number if you can safely see it. 🚓 Don't drive home: If you think an aggressive driver is following you, do not head home. Keep driving toward a public place or the nearest police station.
Let's keep our roadways safe by practicing patience and defensive driving!
