An IUP alumnus is just two wins away from hoisting the Stanley Cup!

Bill Burniston '91, a proud IUP graduate who began his career working with IUP's sports medicine team, serves as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Carolina Hurricanes. After a thrilling 5-3 Game 4 victory, the Hurricanes have evened the Stanley Cup Final at 2-2 and return home to Raleigh for a pivotal Game 5 tonight (Thursday, June 11).

Now in his ninth season as the Hurricanes' Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and his 10th season with the organization, Burniston has spent more than 25 years helping athletes perform at their highest level. His distinguished career has included work with USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team and leadership in the fields of athletic performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.

Now, the Crimson Hawk alumnus finds himself on hockey's biggest stage with a championship within reach.

Join us in cheering on Bill and the Hurricanes as they continue their quest for the Stanley Cup!
