Celebrate the National Day on Writing by encouraging students to share why they write and helping them recognize the many ways writing plays a role in their daily lives. Established by the National Council of Teachers of English, this annual celebration highlights the importance of writing as a tool for communication, creativity, and civic engagement.

NCTE established the National Day on Writing® to draw attention to the variety of writing Americans engage in and to help make writers aware of their craft.

Professional Learning Networks (PLNs) help educators combat isolation, collaborate with peers, share resources, and continuously grow through meaningful professional learning opportunities. Building connections through organizations, social media, conferences, and local learning communities can strengthen teaching practices while creating richer learning experiences for students.

Teachers need ways to connect with peers, exchange ideas, collaborate and share resources, and engage in meaningful discussions.
