UWM Student Government

UWM Student Government The Student Association (S.A.) is the voice of the students and the official facilitator of Shared Governance at UWM.

UWM Student Government is the official student governing body at UWM, representing student voices and bridging communication between students and campus administration. We seek new and innovative ways to prompt positive change on campus and in our communities, while serving as an advocate for student rights and student organizations!

A week ago, we closed out the year with our final Senate meeting and Passing of the Gavel ceremony πŸ’›πŸ–€

During our last meeting of the year, we passed final pieces of legislation, celebrated the students elected to lead UWM Student Government next year, and reflected on everything we accomplished together throughout this past year. We were also grateful to have members of the UWM community who worked alongside us throughout the year join us for the celebration.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year possible and to every student leader who dedicated their time to representing students. Here’s to the memories, the impact, and the next chapter of Stu Gov. ✨

As his time at UWM comes to a close, we want to recognize Student Government President Jeremi for continuing to show up, lead, and advocate for students until the very end.

Recently, Jeremi met with UWM Police Chief Brian Switala, Police Captain Jamie Kuenzi, and campus safety partners to discuss the future of campus safety infrastructure, including updates to UWM’s blue light phone system.

This meeting centered on student safety, campus resources, and how UWM can continue improving emergency communication for students. Conversations like this reflect the meaningful work Jeremi has done throughout his time in Student Government and the relationships StuGov has made that will continue to support students moving forward.

Thank you, Jeremi, for your leadership and for continuing meaningful conversations that we can carry forward into the next semester.

Our Student Government members are constantly showing up for the UWM and Milwaukee community. πŸ’›πŸ–€

A couple weeks ago, members participated in Make a Difference Day, an event focused on supporting elderly community members in Milwaukee with outdoor yard work like raking leaves, clearing branches, and taking care of tasks that can be difficult to do alone.

We’re proud to highlight the work our members continue to do beyond Senate and across the community. Thank you to everyone who helped make a difference!
