Exam week got a little brighter thanks to some four-legged visitors. As Upper School students take their final assessments, therapy dog teams from New York Therapy Animals stopped by 64 for a meet-and-greet focused on wellness, relaxation, and a little puppy love.

A few student reviews:
🐾 "Can we have this every day?"
🐾 "Wow, all my problems are gone."

Good luck to all of our students as they finish the year strong!

The Browning Way highlights how our values of honesty, curiosity, dignity, and purpose show up in the lives of Browning community members! Assistant Athletic Director Mike Cohn reflects on purpose:

“While athletics is my passion, in my role, I get to shape more than athletic ability. I help shape character, confidence, and habits that often stay with students for life. Some of the most meaningful moments come when student-athletes have that ‘light bulb’ breakthrough, understanding how to execute a skill or game plan—a reminder of why I do what I do.”

Browning celebrated the many joys of sharing culture and building community through a series of heritage month events in May.

The Middle School Jewish Culture Club hosted its 4th annual Challah Bake in recognition of Jewish American Heritage Month, bringing students together to learn, bake, and celebrate a growing tradition of connection and community.

Lower Schoolers gathered for the last Lunch Bunch of the year to celebrate Haitian Heritage Month, enjoying Caribbean food while Ms. Bonneannee shared insights into Haitian culture. The group explored facts about Haiti, listened to Komba music, and reflected on shared experiences.

Middle Schoolers took part in the YALA Gala Jr., a citywide gathering for AAPI-identifying students featuring hands-on cultural activities including calligraphy, cricket, karaoke, dumpling making, and board games. Guided by Upper School mentors, the event highlighted leadership, creativity, and belonging.

Brian achieves the largely invisible but intensely difficult: academic and social success as a Panther, and simultaneous success in a time-consuming, non-Browning activity.

An enthusiastic group collaborator who profoundly enjoys interacting with fellow seniors in and out of the classroom, Brian brings a grounded and well-informed persistence to his studies. And while instinctively humble, he is a talented public speaker who thrives under pressure.

And that’s no wonder, because Brian is a famously determined and accomplished swimmer who is in the pool most every morning. While Brian’s athleticism is rarely viewed by the community, we celebrate the time management and determination that fueled his awards in the natatorium - and the purposeful young man he has become at Browning.

Cameron fosters intentional community. He brings people together through acknowledging differences of opinion, perception, and experience. His talent for original, joyful, technically-sound and wonderfully expressive storytelling is a connecting force.

Cameron helps this community memorialize the big moments, working tirelessly on our school yearbook and making films that document our Robotics Team’s journey. He has a problem-solving mindset, a willingness to take on challenges, and contributions to Browning that we will remember for years to come.

As a leader of the Gender Discussions club, Cameron demonstrates empathy, openness, and a commitment to upholding the dignity of all people. Whether behind a camera or collaborating with peers on an assignment, he embodies dedication, authenticity, and purpose.

Balance sets William apart from the Panther Pack; he is playful and brings joy to those around him, yet shows real maturity when it matters most. He was a captain on the soccer team this fall, leading his teammates with resilience, integrity, and heart.

On and off the pitch, William mentors younger students as a Peer Leader and never hesitates to offer guidance, encouragement, patience, and care. He asks important questions and thinks across disciplines, connecting his passion for literature, philosophy, and politics in his work with our Political Discussions club. William's journey is inspiring, and his future is incredibly bright!
