Congratulations to our retiring faculty and staff, Dr. Patricia Sharpnack, Dr. Janet Baker, Dr. Christopher Edmonds, Dr. Thomas Frazier, Joyce Helber, Rose Call, Rhonda Austin, Golden Dickerson, Deanne Hurley, and Mary Lynn Perri. It was inspiring and heartwarming to hear speeches about each of these amazing colleagues at our Building Community Day meeting last week. We will miss seeing their faces on campus, but they deserve all the best in this next chapter. We wish them well!

Early on in the process of merging with Gannon University, Ursuline College faculty and staff were asked to write down the words that come to mind when they think about Ursuline and our community. These words were written on leaves cut out of fabric, which were then lovingly sewn into a quilt by undergrad art therapy assistant professor Jennifer Schwartz. Last week, the final product was displayed for the campus at our Building Community Day gathering. This special piece of Ursuline history will be displayed outside the St. Angela Chapel in Mullen.

At Ursuline College one of our core values is collaboration and we have a perfect example of collaboration in action during last month's eco-art therapy workshop. The graduate counseling and art therapy program teamed up with undergraduate art therapy faculty member, Jennifer Schwartz, for an incredible two-day intensive on use of eco-art therapy methods! Lessons included eco-art therapy theory, environmentally conscious methods, deep ecology and eco-spirituality, studio sustainability practices, eco-dyes, batiks, and eco-printing on fabric, yarn, and paper. What a beautiful result!
