The limited-edition hat, a collaboration between La Salle University Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D., and Hat Company CEO and Chairman Don Rongione, '79, embodies blue and gold pride.

Alisa Macksey joined the campus community in 2022. Now, as Vice President of Campus Life, she hopes to continue to make a positive impact on the Explorer experience.

Nov. 1 is All Saints’ Day, a Christian holiday celebrated to honor all saints of the church, both known and unknown, who have attained heaven. This day commemorates the "Church Triumphant," or every soul who has attained heavenly glory, including formally canonized saints as well as countless ordinary individuals known only to God.

All Souls' Day is a Christian day of prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed, observed annually on Nov. 2. It forms the final day of All Hallowtide, following Halloween and All Saints' Day, and focuses on offering prayers, masses, and alms to help souls in purgatory.

La Salle alumnus Jeff O'Donnell, '82, visited 20th and Olney earlier this week to speak with School of Business students about his successful career in medical device sales.

Jeff brings more than 30 years of Board and Chief Executive experience running emerging medical device firms. Businesses under his direct leadership have achieved over $1.5 Billion in value creation from two initial public offerings and several mergers and acquisitions.

Inspired to improve his local communities, Kadafi El-Kardah, ’15, utilized the educational foundation he built at La Salle University to grow a career in environmentalism, most recently with the Germantown-based Drain Buddies initiative.

💬 “Being from Philadelphia, staying connected to the city was important to me,” he said. “La Salle gave me the opportunity to study environmental science while being close to the communities and places that shaped me.” 💬

La Salle University grad Bishop Joseph L. Coffey, ‘82, was recently honored with The Saint John Neumann Award, which recognizes individuals whose unwavering commitment to service has profoundly strengthened their community.

Bishop Coffey is a retired Navy chaplain with 28 years of service, including a deployment to Afghanistan. Now, he serves as Episcopal Vicar for Veterans Affairs for the Archdiocese for the Military Services of the United States. His “ministry of presence” reaches all 150 VA Medical Centers across the nation, where he provides pastoral care and sacramental comfort to veterans and their families, reminding them of how honorable it is to serve.

Bishop Coffey’s compassionate leadership and tireless advocacy are an inspiration to the Catholic Charities’ Veterans program staff, who work tirelessly to uplift the dignity of those who have served our country
