Cal Poly Pomona CBA Alumni Meet Our Vice President, Minerva Lopez ✨📈
Minerva Lopez is a legal and contracts professional with more than a decade of experience in commercial contracting, government contracting, regulatory compliance, and strategic legal operations within the healthcare and medical device industry.
She currently serves as Contract Specialist for Embla Medical, where she leads contract management across North America and manages a diverse portfolio of commercial, healthcare, corporate, and government agreements.
At Embla Medical, Minerva built the company’s contracting and government contracting compliance infrastructure, developing the policies, processes, and resources needed to support U.S. federal contracts, including those with the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs. Her work combines legal and regulatory expertise with a practical, business-focused approach to risk management and growth.
Previously, Minerva served as a Senior Contract Analyst at Johnson & Johnson MedTech, managing complex commercial agreements and partnering with cross-functional teams to improve contracting processes. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Senior Paralegal specializing in employment litigation and California labor law.
A proud first-generation college graduate, Minerva earned her B.S. in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona, with an emphasis in Finance, Real Estate, and Law and a minor in Contract Management. She also holds an A.S. in Paralegal Studies and is currently pursuing her MBA at Cal Poly Pomona.
Minerva is deeply committed to mentorship and professional development. She serves as Vice President of the Cal Poly Pomona College of Business Administration Alumni Chapter and Vice President of the NCMA Los Angeles/South Bay Chapter.
She is passionate about supporting first-generation professionals and believes education, resilience, and service create meaningful opportunities and lasting impact.
