Hackers, AI fakes, and high-stakes challenges—oh my! 👀🔥 OIT and ISO brought Cybersecurity Awareness Month to life with The University of Texas at Dallas's first Cyber Threat Defender event. Students battled experts, tested their cyber smarts, learned about Box services, and took on an AI-image challenge. Did you successfully identify the AI-generated images? 🕵️‍♀️

Join us in welcoming Jessalyn Galloway to the OIT team as an Enterprise Systems Developer!

Jessalyn earned her BS in Software Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas, MS in Applied Statistics and Data Science from UT Arlington, and brings over 10 years of military IT experience to the team. Jessalyn is supporting our enterprise learning systems by contributing to the development of applications that support university academic operations. We're excited to see how Jessalyn will contribute to our academic digital learning portfolio.

Outside of work, Jessalyn enjoys baking, gaming with her wife, Neli, and spending time with her cats.

OIT is highlighting some of the accessibility resources every UTD student should know about. Whether you’re writing a paper, building a presentation, or studying for finals, these four accessibility resources can make your UT Dallas experience smoother:
1) Microsoft’s Accessibility Checker: Make sure your Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files are accessible before you hit submit.
2) Immersive Reader: Simplify web pages, hear text read aloud, and translate content in Microsoft Edge.
3) OIT Accessibility Resources: Explore visual impairment and deaf/hard of hearing resources, plus UTD’s accessibility policy and plan.
4) AccessAbility Resource Center (ARC): Looking for more? ARC provides disability and accessibility services for students.

The Dell Bus rolled onto campus on September 9 and 10, bringing hands-on technology!

Students, faculty, and staff had the opportunity to explore the latest technology, connect with OIT, and get a hands-on look at innovative tools shaping the future of work, learning, and research.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn, ask questions, and see innovation in action.

And a special thank you to Dell for partnering with us and helping Comets discover innovative tools.

We're celebrating members of the UTD Office of Information Technology who competed in the Richardson Corporate Challenge!

🥇 Trent Duncan earned Gold in Bowling, marking an incredible five consecutive years as a gold medalist.

🥈 Katie Willis earned a Silver Medal in Women's Doubles Tennis.

Congratulations to both medalists representing UT Dallas and OIT with excellence. We are proud of your accomplishments and thankful for all you do for our campus community!

UT Dallas students have access to the full suite of Microsoft 365 apps for free! This includes PowerPoint, Word, OneDrive and more!

The New Student Technology checklist will ensure that your devices are ready for class. You can find a digital copy at utd.link/techcheck

#3 Free Adobe Creative Cloud in the Computer Labs

Any UTD student can access the Adobe Creative cloud for free in the computer labs. This will give you access to programs like Photoshop and Premiere Pro!

#4 Free Tech Help on Campus

All in person, OIT locations offer free walk-in tech support. This includes the TechKnowledgy Bar, Founders Lab, and Sonora Lab.

#5 Free E-Recycling at the TechKnowledgy Bar

If you have old chargers, broken electronics, or dead batteries, you can drop them off at the TechKnowledgy Bar for e-recycling.
