Innovation comes full circle at SDSU College of Engineering.
SDSU Baja Racing was recently featured by FOX Factory as the face of its new Baja SAE coil-overs. FOX visited the team’s shop to photograph the vehicle and showcase the next generation of off-road suspension innovation.

What makes this collaboration especially meaningful is that the coil-overs were developed by an SDSU Baja Racing alumnus now working at FOX Factory, a testament to the real-world impact of experiential learning and student design programs.

Through the Baja SAE competition, SDSU students gain hands-on experience in vehicle dynamics, manufacturing, systems integration, project management, and teamwork while designing and racing a custom off-road vehicle against universities across the country.

We’re proud to see Aztec engineers contributing to industry-leading innovation and continuing SDSU’s tradition of engineering excellence.

To the moon 🌕🚀

SDSU Team ATHENA has officially arrived at Kennedy Space Center as one of the nation’s top 10 finalists in NASA’s 2026 Lunabotics Challenge.

Designed, built and tested by SDSU engineering students, the team’s rover is capable of navigating simulated lunar terrain, transporting regolith and supporting autonomous lunar construction tasks connected to future Artemis missions.
Months of research, redesign, problem-solving and teamwork led to this moment, and we could not be prouder of these students, faculty advisors and everyone who helped make this achievement possible.

Team ATHENA’s first run begins May 20 at 6:30 a.m. PT / 9:30 a.m. ET.

To watch the livestreams throughout the competition, visit NASA's website: https://go.nasa.gov/4nJJWC3

Congratulations to Team ATHENA and the SDSU College of Engineering on this incredible achievement.
