ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | MACKENZEE SILLS

What a week for Mackenzee Sills!

The sophomore helped lead Lassen Volleyball to a perfect 5–0 road trip, putting together a huge all-around performance.

Sills came up especially big in Lassen’s comeback victory over #24 Coalinga, finishing with 14 kills, 10 digs and a .387 hitting percentage as the Cougars battled back from a 2–0 deficit.

Her performance helped the Cougars improve to 8–1 overall and extend their winning streak to seven straight!

Following an 8–1 start and seven consecutive victories, Lassen Volleyball has entered the 3C2AWVCA State Top 25 at No. 23!

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Congratulations to Roxie Keim of Lassen College Volleyball on being named our Athlete of the Week!

Roxie helped lead the Cougars to a 3–1 start to the season, making an immediate impact on both sides of the net. Her strong attacking, consistency, and all-around play helped set the tone for a great opening road trip.

Former Lassen College Baseball player Ray Kerr is back in the Major Leagues with the Atlanta Braves after more than two years away from a Major League mound while recovering from reconstructive elbow surgery.

Kerr made his return count, throwing 1⅓ scoreless innings in his first MLB appearance since 2024 — including escaping a bases-loaded, no-out situation without allowing a run.

Ray’s journey from Lassen College to professional baseball — and now back to the Major Leagues after a major injury — is a great example of perseverance and what can happen when you keep taking advantage of the opportunities in front of you.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will give athletes the opportunity to:

There is a lot of history behind the Lassen College Wrestling name.

From state and national championships to All-Americans, national champions and generations of Cougars who continued their careers at four-year programs, Lassen Wrestling has left its mark on the sport.
