YSU recently hosted the Reading of Names Ceremony to honor and remember our community members who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Students, faculty, staff, and community members gathered together in reflection and remembrance, reading names aloud to recognize the importance of every life and the impact these individuals continue to have on their families, friends, and communities.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this meaningful event and helped create a space for remembrance and unity. 🐧❤️

As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, we reflect with gratitude on the heroes whose courage, dedication, and selflessness helped shape our nation and protect the freedoms we cherish today.

🎉 Congratulations to YSU’s own Collin Richards on an outstanding achievement! 🐧💪

After earning his Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Youngstown State University College of STEM this spring, Collin has been awarded an Ohio Space Grant Consortium Graduate Fellowship to continue his graduate studies at Youngstown State during the 2026–2027 academic year.

We can’t wait to see all he accomplishes next—way to make Penguin Nation proud!
