Last week the Students' Union unveiled the 2026 Black Hall of Fame as part of a long line of events for Black History Month.

After the ribbon cutting ceremony near the Library, the group moved over to the SU for a panel talk followed by a choir performance and food!

Congrats to all students, alumni and staff nominated by their peers. 🎉🥳

Honouring our Communites | Bristol Distinguished Address Series

Last week the first of this Autumn's BDAS event series took place at the Watershed. Stacey Olika hosted a panel of speakers; Lewis Wedlock, Andelores Chakon and Mo Ebengho to dicuss this years theme - Honouring our Communities and to celebate Black Bristol.

Huge congratulations to Charli-Ann Padilla for being awarded the highly prestigious Freelands Painting Prize 2026 🏆

Charli‑Ann's incredible painting 'Vanilla flavoured coke' was chosen from a shortlist of 12 UK student artists by a panel of independent artists.

The painting will now be exhibited at the Freelands Foundation’s gallery in London from 7 – 31 October 2026.
