Learning to become a nurse is about more than understanding the theory. It’s also about building the confidence to put that knowledge into practice.

Our Nursing students have been developing their clinical skills through practical learning and simulation, giving them the opportunity to practise essential skills in a supportive environment.

These sessions help students connect classroom learning with the situations they may encounter throughout their training and future careers.

Great to see our Year 2 Nursing students developing their clinical skills through practical learning and simulation.

These hands-on sessions give students the opportunity to build confidence, practise essential skills and apply their learning in a supportive environment.

It was also lovely to welcome students who previously studied at our Southend Campus and continue supporting them as they progress through their course.

It was great to meet students from Ipswich High School, East Bergholt and Holbrook School at the careers fair on 8 October.

Charlotte Flynn, Lecturer in Occupational Therapy, School of Health and Social Care, was joined by Mackenzie Chalmers, Student Recruitment and Marketing Assistant, to speak with prospective students about studying at Essex and routes into health and social care careers.

It was a valuable opportunity to take HSC out into the community, answer questions and connect with future students.
