We have weekly meetings on Wednesday from 6-8pm, followed by a social at Top Bar! The University of Essex Model United Nations society is one of the most active and popular societies on campus. Whether you are interested in International Affairs, Global Citizenship, Politics, Economics, Law, Human Rights, Sociology and current International Affairs in general, or you want to discover different and contrasting perspectives on a same issue, or you simply want to attend debates as an observer, we will welcome you wholeheartedly in our Society! Whether you want to come as a peace-maker or as a despicable totalitarian dictator, come as you are! You would be much more than welcome to pop by LTB3 on Tuesdays at 7PM to see what we are all about!

Happy UN Day from MUNEssex! 🇺🇳

Today celebrates the entry into force of the UN Charter in 1945! Signed by the original 51 member nations, the UN became an official world organisation, and has since grown to its 193 members in the last 81 years!

In 1945, the UN was formed to save future generations from the ‘scourge of war’ following the devastation of the Second World War. Now, the organisation promotes peace, human rights and sustainable development around the world!
