Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) successfully completed the AACCUP Online Accreditation Survey Visit via Zoom Meeting across its Iloilo City, Barotac Nuevo, and Miagao campuses, highlighting its unwavering commitment to continuous quality assurance and institutional excellence. The virtual evaluation comprised the Level IV Phase 2 Accreditation Survey Visit on October 26–28, 2026 and the Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) on October 26–30, 2026.

The Level IV Phase 2 evaluation assessed the BS in Fashion Design and Merchandizing (Iloilo City Campus), Bachelor of Industrial Technology (Barotac Nuevo Campus), Bachelor of Elementary Education (Miagao Campus), and BIT major in Automotive Technology (Miagao Campus). Concurrently, the Preliminary Survey Visit evaluated the BA in English Language (Iloilo City Campus), BS in Biology (Iloilo City Campus), and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (Barotac Nuevo Campus).

This milestone stands as a testament to the unity, preparation, and shared dedication of the entire university community. Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) joins the 2026 TELAkademi: The Annual Textile Academy Conference, held as part of the 1st Global Textile Congress and the 2026 Philippine Textile Congress, on October 28–29, 2026, at the University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City, with the theme “Stitching Our Shared Textile Futures.”

Organized by the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), the two-day event brings together higher education institutions to showcase research, design, and innovations that advance textiles as a medium of creative expression. Through exhibits, demonstrations, and interactive activities, the conference highlights the role of textile education and innovation in building a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive textile industry.

Dr. Gabriel M. Salistre Jr., University President of Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), served as a panelist at the Iloilo Talent and Education Conference 2026 on October 29, 2026, at the District 21 Hotel Annex in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Organized by the Iloilo City Government through the LEDIP Office, alongside the Iloilo Business Club and the Iloilo Federation for Information Technology, the event centered on "Upskilling Beyond Digitalization for an Employment-Ready Local Talent."

Representing technology and engineering education, Dr. Salistre participated in the panel discussion "Integration Strategies in Education," detailing how ISAT U aligns its academic programs with the evolving needs of local industries. The conference brought together leaders from academia, the business sector, national government agencies, and local government units to analyze current talent trends and explore collaborative initiatives.

Through ISAT U’s active participation, the event emphasized strengthening industry-academe-government partnerships to bridge skill gaps. Key focus areas included curriculum alignment, work immersion, internships, specialized skills training, professional certifications, research, innovation, and direct employment pathways for Iloilo's emerging workforce.

𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗖𝗞 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗧 | ISAT U PARTICIPATES IN THE PEMNet 1ST NATIONAL EXTENSION CONFERENCE 2026

The Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), through its Extension Services Division (ESD), proudly participates in the Philippine Extension Managers Network, Inc. (PEMNet) 1st National Extension Conference 2026, at Hue Hotels and Resorts Boracay, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.

The university proudly recognizes Dr. Carmelo V. Ambut as a Plenary Speaker, sharing his expertise on advancing transformative extension practices and strengthening the role of higher education institutions in community development.

ISAT U is represented by 24 participants, including 14 paper presenters and one poster presenter, showcasing the university’s extension initiatives, best practices, and community engagement efforts on a national platform.

Further highlighting ISAT U’s commitment to extension leadership is the oath-taking of PEMNet officers Dr. Adrienne D. Veloso and Dr. Corazon C. Corbal, representing the university. Their involvement reflects ISAT U’s continued dedication to strengthening professional networks, fostering institutional collaboration, and advancing responsive and sustainable extension initiatives.

Adding to the university’s significant contributions is the participation of Ms. Shailini G. Gestosani, Mr. Renante E. Fernandez, and Ms. Vanessa Mae D. Supapo as invited roundtable discussants. They share their expertise and insights in both research and extension, contributing to meaningful discussions on innovative practices, knowledge exchange, and strengthening community engagement among higher education institutions.

Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) conducted an Orientation-Workshop on Integrating Climate Change in the Needs and Expectations of Interested Parties on October 29, 2026, at the University Library’s Audio-Visual Room 1, Iloilo City Campus.

The activity featured Ms. Rosanna A. Dureza, Environment and Climate Change Coordinator, as the resource speaker, who discussed the importance of integrating climate change considerations into the University's Quality Management System (QMS), in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 Clauses 4.1 and 4.2.

Attended by Quality Assurance Officers and Document Controllers, the workshop aimed to strengthen institutional awareness and promote the integration of environmental considerations into quality management processes.

Through this initiative, ISAT U reaffirms its commitment to continuous improvement, environmental responsibility, and sustainable institutional practices.
