𝙉𝙊 𝙏𝙊 𝙋𝘼𝙓 𝙎𝙄𝙇𝙄𝘾𝘼 ! 🚫
The US needed 14 countries to secure the supply chain of semiconductors and critical minerals. Our country has a large deposit of minerals that are highly needed for this project to work, and the Philippines has joined a 14-country coalition to secure the global semiconductor supply chain.
𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭?
Because of this project, 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒚, and 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 would be the most affected. 🌾
The 4,000 acres of industrial land in Luzon would force farmers to leave their own land, and Filipinos in rural communities would lose their source of income.
The effect of this will also negatively impact our water and environment. The building industry and mining would cause pollution in rivers, soil erosion and damage to our natural resources. The DENR promised an environmental impact assessment, but is this enough to protect our environment?
As a 𝗖𝗕𝗔 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, we are not just looking at how important numbers are, but also at the importance of our farmers, land, and environment. Not all things should be implemented; 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦. ✊
